| 'pods in sump | 31 Dec 2004 01:09 GMT | 4 |
My sump\fuge is teeming with all kinds of pods, some of them look darn near big enough to start attacking hermit crabs. Question is, whats the best way to "harvest" them, and get them into the display tank where they can become food for the mandarin and wrasse?

Has anyone ever purchased from Empire pets? They're located in Marietta, Ga. I ordered some stuff on the 1st, they hit my card, and I haven't heard a thing since. My account says it's still processing. They haven't answered any e-mails and forget calling. The old saying ...

| brown Algae and lighting | 29 Dec 2004 16:51 GMT | 7 |
I have been having a brown algae issue for about 4 weeks. I am now on vacation and was here when the lights came on at 10:00am and noticed the algae was completely gone from the rocks and about 70% gone from the sand bed. I come back about 4 hours later and it is as bad as ever. ...

| Seperate pump for UV or use ext Filter | 28 Dec 2004 21:48 GMT | 2 |
Just setting up my tank again after a wipe out a few months ago. Got myself a UV this time. Is it OK to put it in line with the ext filter or will it reduce the flow rate to much, should I put the UV on its own filter? The ext filter is 1000lph on my 300l tank.

| clown suicide | 27 Dec 2004 23:59 GMT | 10 |
One of a pair of percula clowns jumped out of the tank last night. I'm trying to figure out if there was a reason for it, or if it was just an unlikely jump. There are no other fish in there yet, besides the remaining clown, just a chocolate chip star, a small emerald crab and a ...

| VHO or T5? | 27 Dec 2004 11:24 GMT | 3 |
I am setting up my new 120. I have a 49" canopy to work with, but its only got 6" vertical clearance inside it. Light options are either VHO or T5. I am finding it hard to find out how the 8x54 watt T5 is compared to 4x110 watt VHOs. Mostly concerned with brightness, but heat ...
