Disparity In Emerald Crabs.23 Dec 2004 22:15 GMT3
Hi all and happy holidays.
I bought a cleaner crew a couple of months ago. Included were two
emerald crabs. What has me confused is that one emerald crabs grew to
almost three times the size of the other one. It's sort of scary to look

Should I go with marine or fresh water in my store?23 Dec 2004 09:51 GMT1
Hi.  I've been a poster for a few months in the freshwater newsgroup and had
to ask something here.
Quick background:
As a youth in the 70's/early 80's we had a 55g salt tank in the house
Tank management.22 Dec 2004 23:08 GMT4
Hi Again,
Thanks for the advice on the new tank setup, all very helpful.  ( I posted a
few days ago about the 96 litre marine setup).
I have arranged for one of the other LFS in my area to visit in the morning
RO/DI Filter Dirty??22 Dec 2004 22:31 GMT2
Please help.  I have a system that I bought from Home Depot about a year ago
and just recently the little overflow (hole near the spout) started spitting
out water whenever I get some water.  Is this a sign of a filter going bad?
Do I have to replace it?  What other possibilities ...
aquarium lighting22 Dec 2004 22:24 GMT2
Hi, guys.
I am wondering how differently 6000K and 10000K white light affect corals
and fishes. In fact, I can get 6000K bulk in very cheap price. So, If there
is just a little difference, I prefer using 6000K instead of 10000K.

I have a new setup, 75 gallon tank with overflow to 20+ gallon sump. I also
have a protien skimmer but i am thinking it does not need to be on right now
since nothing is in the tank. Is this true? do i need it when i add the

What will Santa Claus bring to my fishes ? ? ? ? ?22 Dec 2004 20:42 GMT2
Maybe Santa hates fishes and brings a stick of dynamite for them ?
Treatment of Ichty22 Dec 2004 04:15 GMT1
I heard that Ichty may be treated with 1 mg/l of potassium permanganate
and I would like to try this as a last resource. However, I am afraid to
damage some crabs and shrimps that are still alive. Also, I do not know
how my caulerpa will behave under these conditions.
Rose anenome won't sit still!21 Dec 2004 23:31 GMT3
Hello-  I bought a Rose (bubble-tip) anemome about 3 weeks ago and
everything seemed to go O.K. at first.  Within about 2 to 3 days it started
to wander about the tank.  Everyday it would be in a new location- N-S-E-and
W.  It's starting to shrivel a little now.  Could it be ...
46.5" VHO tubes with end caps -- how long are they?21 Dec 2004 05:18 GMT2
I have plans for a 120 aquarium (48x24x24).  The clearance inside the canopy
is just under 49" across.  Will the 46.5 tubes with waterproof end caps fit
inside there?  If not, I need to switch to the 150 which is 60" wide, and
have plenty of lighting options.....
Bristleworms:friend or foe?21 Dec 2004 01:30 GMT6
Well everyone are they to be welcomed in the reef tank
or should they be classed as an enemy?
Take care,
Paul.
Lionfish Can't Open Mouth20 Dec 2004 19:16 GMT3
I have a Red Volitan that I have had for about 6 months.  A few days
ago I noticed that her top jaw looked a big irregular, but she was
eating fine.  I had heard about Lionfish dislocating their jaw, so I
figured that was the case and that as long as she could eat, she was
Cement floor20 Dec 2004 02:22 GMT5
OK, The sulfur based denitrofier thread has way out grown itself (for me),
but I keep gleaning through it and found something interesting. Wayne
Sallee, you take about using Portland cement for the floor of your tank. I
love this idea as far as preventing the fish from digging to ...
cloudy water and power filter20 Dec 2004 00:35 GMT10
I have a new 75gal. setup and have just put in the crushed coral
substrate. My question is should I leave the power filter run to clear
up the cloudiness in the water or leave it off so the particles will
settle.
