How do you remove "unwanted's"18 Jan 2005 03:27 GMT3
How do you go about removing unwanted inverts', coral, etc. from the tank?
Ive read several posts concerning the removal of unwanted starfish,
excessively growing corals, etc., but have not heard how to actually go
about removing them.  Also, what do you do with them once they have ...
Biggest Beginner Mistake?18 Jan 2005 03:21 GMT23
Let's say a newbie has a marine tank (fish and live rock, basic stuff).
Excepting the process of cycling a tank, what do you think is the biggest
mistake that marine tank owners make, which may result in dead fish?

Skinny Worm ID?18 Jan 2005 03:14 GMT1
Somehow, in a bucket of aged tapwater I was about to add to my aquarium
I found I strange, very skinny worm. It's about the general size of a
bristle worms, and it does, indeed, have bristles, but they are smaller
and harder to see than those on other bristleworms I've seen. Also, ...
Reef Conventions?17 Jan 2005 17:54 GMT13
I've been trying to do a google search on the aforementioned, or general
aquaria convention, but have had no avail.
I'm sure there must be a convention here in the USA or Canada that
sports the latest in all things reef and/or aquariums, et cetera.
Cycling Tank and Nitrite Spikes17 Jan 2005 17:23 GMT1
I have a 72 gallon bow FOWLR tank. I added 90 lbs of live Fiji rock on Dec
21. Since it is a new setup I did not cure the rock figuring I'd cycle the
tank with the rock. Lights out since the rock was added. (Well ocassionally
a peek in!) Skimmer is running. It produced tons of ...

Success with Sponges?16 Jan 2005 23:34 GMT3
I have a 4 year old reef tank, and over the years I have attempted on
numerous occassions to introduce specimens of sponges into my tank.  I
know that they are not to be exposed to air at all.  Virtually all the
attempts have had a similar course.  They start to shrink away, usually
Water preperation16 Jan 2005 20:07 GMT24
I have read this group off and on for several years....  It seems that most
people here recommand using an RO unit or an RO/DI unit for preparing their
water.  Since I am not thrilled about wasteing a lot of water, other than
haveing to "recharge" the resins, what is the advantage ...

Pop16 Jan 2005 01:01 GMT2
I heard this a couple of times and then the other day I read about the loud
"popping" or "clicking" sound that is a shrimp?  Wow...  I thought my glass
broke or a rock fell and hit the glass it was loud.  Why would I remove this
loud little bugger (never have saw him)?
