Online retailer that sells only tank raised fish?28 Mar 2005 07:37 GMT2
I plan to only purchase captive bred fish for my reef tank.  I'm
currently looking to purchase a pearly jawfish.  Can anyone reccommend
an online retailer with a large captive bred selection?
Thanks,
Algae Question28 Mar 2005 03:27 GMT2
Hello everyone, I have a question about some recent algae outbreaks in my
tank.  The tank has been set up and running for close to two months now-
already had the amm./nitrite/nitrate cycle. But recently (past two weeks or
so) there has been a huge outbreak of brown (diatom?) algae ...
Tubeworm hitchhiker?28 Mar 2005 03:24 GMT1
I've been looking through google for info on hitchhikers and so far have
not found what I've got. I am guessing some kind of tube worm that has
been hiding in the live rock until now. (the tank is now 3 mos. old )
There are two of them, but I am not sure if it's two seperate ...
Shell-less snail? 28 Mar 2005 03:11 GMT1
I came home after a day's excursion to several LFSs to discover what
appears to be a turbo snail sans shell.  :-(  I'm thinking perhaps
this is not a Good Thing. They all had their shells on when I left!
Is this one of those things snails do when we're not watching??? if

Friggin Angel27 Mar 2005 10:17 GMT1
I had a couple small Nassarius snails toolin' around in my 75reef,
and I like the way the stir up the sand, so I stopped by the LFS last
week and picked up 15 of them. A buck a pop, large ones, shell almost
black, which struck me as odd, but they were Nassarius in every
Queen conch27 Mar 2005 04:54 GMT1
What does a queen conch eat? And why is mine climbing up the front glass like a
snail?

What's the likely hood one could breed brine shrimp, instead of raising them
from eggs?

Sand shifting Star Fish26 Mar 2005 11:33 GMT1
I introduced a sand shifting starfish today into my tank and he pretty much
vanished into the sand. I figure this is normal, a new animal in a tank,
usually hides until he is comfortable with his new surroundings. I want to
purchase some red claw hermits and an emerald crab to ...
Treatment for popeye?26 Mar 2005 04:47 GMT1
My yellow tail damsel has a popeye. He also had a few bumps here and there
on his skin with no visible black or white spots. He seems healthy and eats
normal. I currently have him in a 10 gal hospital tank with copper. Is this
enough?
Proposed new reef tank: comments requested24 Mar 2005 19:46 GMT6
I'm thinking of building a custom reef tank.  I designed it myself, which you
can see at

So far though, I've only had a 55 gallon (1/4-circle bow front) tank, for a
Reverse Osmosis Question23 Mar 2005 17:33 GMT3
I'm starting a small reef system in my 29G.  I'm not going to go crazy,
a couple of zooenids and mushrooms.  My question is about this reverse
osmosis water I've been hearing so much about.  I know I should use
R.O. water for a successful reef system since the process gets rid of

Calcium reactor for 120 gallon tank23 Mar 2005 09:09 GMT1
I am confused by the number of products to choose from.
My greatest desire is something that runs simply , reliably and predictably
with the least amount of grief.
what is your experience with commercial products?
