I was out of town for a few weeks and had a friend feed my fish for me. When I returned, I checked the tank and the nitrates are very high, did a 40% water change. Nitrates are still too high. My question is how long should I wait before doing another water change and how much water ...

Brand new tank, new RO water, added the salt last night and this morning it is still cloudy. Can anybody tell me if this is normal, there is nothing else in the tank yet apart from the heater a power head circulating water. How long does the salt normally take to fully disolve ?, ...

Does anybody have any comment on using a small proportion of tap water to make up my tank, due to the size of containers I can get and the distance to travel the initial set up of my tank would be easier if I could about 5- 10% tapwater.

I finally purchased an Anemone (E. Quad. rose/green) for my pair of false percs. (actually it broke up the pair and they are fighting really bad, she seems to have decided that since she has an anemone, she does not need him for anything. Before they were inseparable.)

Anyone have a comment on Kent MARINE BIOSEDIMENT vs. MIRACLE MUD for a refugium? I've seen some comments that Miracle Mud has a high content of "terrestial" components.
