MH Lighting height question20 Jul 2005 22:17 GMT2
I just got a Sun Supply Maristar fixture and installed it over my 120g reef
tank. This fixture has 2X250w MH and 2X45w PC. How high should it be above
my tank? I started at about 15" but have raised it to almost 2' above the
water surface at this time. I did this mostly to ...
It's not just the aquarium you need patience with!20 Jul 2005 16:10 GMT11
Researching this hobby on the internet is a nightmare.  Everyone has a
different opinion about everything!  Things I have learnt about
Lawnmower Blennys today, all from reputable web sites:
1) They will only eat fresh algae on LR, not other foods
murder of button polyps20 Jul 2005 05:05 GMT18
See, I liked them originally. They were cute. Then they
started....spreading. And spreading. And spreading. It's become what
can only be termed an infestation, making very real for me the lesson
that European reefers call these little darlings 'pest anemones'.
Slipper/Tongue Coral Dying 20 Jul 2005 00:38 GMT3
I have a slipper coral on the sand bed of my tank.  Apparently these are one
of the easier corals to keep and as a beginner i thought i would try one.
(Polyphillia).  My water parameters are fine - better than the shop that I
bought the coral from!!

Algae on Sun Polyps19 Jul 2005 18:41 GMT3
Does anyone have trouble keeping algae off their sun polyps?  Mine are in a
good water flow but every few days I have to gently brush and pull off algae
or it would overgrow the tubes. After the cleaning they "sulk" for a little
bit.  It takes them longer to open up for dinner ...

Trouble with Cquarium Online retailer19 Jul 2005 15:02 GMT2
I have purchased multiple corals from Cquarium in the past 5 years and
have received good service. Recently however, I purchased 6 corals. I
only got four items in the shipment, and when I sent multiple emails
questioning when I could get a refund for the paypal payment, I have
Coral reefs in Tasmania19 Jul 2005 15:00 GMT3
Tasmania is the southern most island state of Australia and cold. I was
just at our news site and came across the following. Might be of
interest to someone here?

Oceans turning dangerously acidic19 Jul 2005 14:42 GMT2
Average pH of seawater has fallen as atmospheric CO2 has increased
BETTE HILEMAN

acidic that corals will cease to thrive, says a report issued on June
Calcium crud on the used skimmer I just bought17 Jul 2005 23:24 GMT13
I bought a big used custom Euroreef skimmer.  It's 2 years old and is a 12"
diameter X 33" high model and uses two Sedra 9000 pumps, this thing should
skim the heck out of the new 240 Gallon reef I'm setting up.  Only problem
is the bottom and insides of the skimmer body as well ...

Heating17 Jul 2005 00:35 GMT13
After spending many months learning about keeping a reef tank I've come
to the conclusion that no two people do it the same and no set up is the
"right" way necessarily. I really wish someone would just say, you do
this, this and this as us women aren't too good at making ...

Help Needed - Sick Fish15 Jul 2005 09:18 GMT5
I'm after some advice on what I can do for my sick fish.
A couple of weeks ago my phosphate filter clogged up & blocked all water
flow at sometime during the night, the next morning my regal blue tang was
looking pretty sick & I thought it was going to die.
