cooling a tank25 Aug 2005 00:42 GMT4
Does anyone have a relatively inexpensive way of cooling down your
tanks? I plan to be using a small tank with MH lighting but I cant
particularly afford a chiller right now. Short of positioning a fan
blowing at the water surface to take the heat away can you guys

Seaclone in a sump?24 Aug 2005 07:14 GMT4
I just replaced my Seaclone with a Remora. I got to wondering if the
seaclone might work better used in a sump rather than hung on the tank. It
seems the biggest flaw is the serpentine injection tube. That has to take a
lot of umph out of the flow. In a sump, that would not be ...

Cleaner Shrimp Breeding...22 Aug 2005 16:04 GMT3
Hi - I have 2 cleaner shrimp.  I notice that one seems to have hundreds of
greeen eggs under its belly.  Is she pregnant?  I assume that all of my fish
are going to have a field day when the eggs hatch.....  Am I correct here
and is it worth trying to rear any of them?
Ehein Wet/Dry 2227 - Any comments on this product?19 Aug 2005 10:04 GMT8
This is my first posting to this newsgroup.  I am starting my first
saltwater tank after years of not having a tank setup.  I use to keep
African Cichlids.
I just recently bought a 75G tank and stand, unfortunately the tank has
Remora tips?18 Aug 2005 22:36 GMT1
Just received a Remora w/maxijet and have it on my 55 fowlr. Are there any
tips for better skimming not covered in the manual?
Is it better to have a wetter foam so that you're getting less concentrated
skimmate, but a steadier flow, or less skimmate of a more concentrated form?

new tank setup advice needed17 Aug 2005 11:07 GMT1
I'm thinking of getting an aquamedic chromis and have some questions on
setup.
If I'm just using a thinish layer of coral sand and live rock for the
filtration will I be able to keep the ph high enough?
Purple Tang16 Aug 2005 22:14 GMT1
I have a purple tang that has been doing fine for several months.  However,
recently he has developed something around his eye, and it appears to also
be on a line on his side as well.  It isn't white, maybe brown spots.
Anyway, I tried treating with Melafix and Pimafix, but ...

for my 40g.  Thanks   Rebecca
Direct sunlight via fiber optics?15 Aug 2005 01:42 GMT6
I'm building out a reef tank and after reading several posts and books
it seems the two biggest issues are nutrient export and lighting.
I've recently stumbled across a new company that is offering something
called sunlight direct. Essentially it is a dish that one mounts

I have tried to register two times since Jan. and still can't log on.  I
don't know what I might have done wrong and can't get a response from them.
Is there another way to contact someone?  I have tried to re- register, but
it says my user name and email are already there.  I ...
