RO/DI unit12 Sep 2005 04:43 GMT26
Greetings seasoned reefers, I just signed myself up for reef adventures by
purchasing 55G tank and have been reading megabytes of info on

endless adventure will be RO/DI unit.  Yes, I know that I'll be using ...
Vanuatu - I love it!11 Sep 2005 23:55 GMT1
Hi all, I just have to tell someone how great our last week has been in
Vanuatu. I've never been diving or snorkelling but in Vanuatu I gave
snorkelling a go and was gob smacked by what I saw only metres off the
beaches. Coral and fish all swimming alongside you with no fear or ...
Anyone using Tropic Marin Pro Reef?11 Sep 2005 21:50 GMT1
Does anyone else using Tropic Marin Pro Reef and neat RO find it low in
Calcium?  I find readings for calcium at about 350-375 with an SG of 1.024
and would expect it to be higher.
Kent RO unit question11 Sep 2005 01:21 GMT3
I've gotten a Kent Hi-S RO unit from a buddy who has gotten out of keeping
fish. He said this is a 35 gpd unit, but I'm not so sure of that. It only
takes it about 4 hrs to fill a 13 gallon container, so I wonder if it's not
actually a 60 or 75 gpd unit.

I am in the process of moving house and have cleared out one of my two main
tanks, which is about 50 gallons. Once moved and assuming that I have
sufficient space, I am considering setting up one as a marine aquarium ...
mainly because they much more intereting to look at; ...
Live rock in part cycled tank?04 Sep 2005 05:20 GMT3
Hi all, I'm in the middle of cycling my SW tank (pure ammonia and bacteria
culture method) Ammonia has spiked and fallen to 0, Nitrite has risen and is
peaking at the moment.
I wasn't going to have live rock in the tank but after seeing some of the
substrate technique name04 Sep 2005 03:21 GMT4
Hello,  I'm trying to find a reference or the name of a common way of
setting up crushed coral substrate.  The name Joebert or Joeber rings a
bell but I'm not getting very far with search engines.
Basically, a flow-through shelf is placed in the bottom of the tank so

think there's some sort of thing growing on it which is attacking it,
but I want to make sure it's not part of the coral.   Take a look at

Can I store premixed marine water01 Sep 2005 01:52 GMT1
I'm taking a trip.  I wanted to leave some water with the marine salts
already added to make it easier to change water. This is for those who
will be looking after the tank while I'm away.
Will it start fouling up... with algaes. I thought maybe storing it in
