B-Ionic question08 Oct 2005 03:00 GMT3
I recently switched to RO water after using tap water. I have begun adding
B-Ionic to keep ph/Ca up. When I add the #1 component, I get little white
chunks of precipitate which seem do dissolve again within 30 seconds or so.
Is this common, or is there something in my tap water ...

Just trying to get some advice.  Planning on doing some maintenance on my

Some Quick Questions06 Oct 2005 09:09 GMT1
1.  I have Caulerpa Nummularia growing on one of my rocks in the back of my
tank.  How much of a nuisance is this algae? (29G tank)
2.  When blue leg hermit crabs molt, does it look just like a hermit crab

LR in cutom quantites?04 Oct 2005 22:53 GMT7
Most of online LR vendors I see sell in 25-30-50lbs boxes, I'd like to
diversify a rocks a bit, for example: 20lbs fiji, 15 tonga, 10 something
else, etc.....  Even base rock, I definitely do not need 50lbs for my 55G
tank :)   I'd go to LFS, but they sell only fiji for $8/lbs -
Randy's Refractometer Calibration  Summary04 Oct 2005 01:41 GMT3
Recently we have been worried about reefers using and assuming that the refracts that ever
one has been using in this hobby should be off - 1.5 ppt or -.15 % or - .0015 SG. We have
been telling people in short to raise the seamix "15 units" higher to  = 35 ppt ( to read
36.5), 3 ...
GHA and lighting03 Oct 2005 18:46 GMT1
Which lights the 10,000k or the Actinic blue would cause green hair
algae growth?
I only have the GHA growing along the front portion of the tank, not in
the back...
Catalog Software - Import/Export03 Oct 2005 18:05 GMT2
You might want to make an import / export feature, using
simple text files, so that people can export, and import
orders. Often when upgrading to a new version, it erases
the current orders. It's time consuming to write down the
Live Rock Question02 Oct 2005 21:32 GMT1
Last week I was given about 70lbs of Fiji live rock from a friends tank that
has been turned off and ignored for approx 4 months. This friend shut down
his tank completely leaving the rock at approx 68 degrees with no light or
skimming.

Okay, so I didn't get the lid on my salt bucket tightly, and now it's

Thanks,
