| Hitching a ride | 18 Jan 2006 15:30 GMT | 2 |
Okay, so I ordered some scarlet reef hermit crabs from eTropicals last week and they arrived today. One of the little guys (about the size of my thumbnail) has a hitchhiker - he's got what looks like a 3/4" tall hard coral growing on his shell!

| HELP PLANARIA!!! | 18 Jan 2006 09:49 GMT | 7 |
Hello folks, I was wondering if there are any reef/coral-safe methods of eliminating, or at least controlling planaria (aka: redworms or flatworms) in my reef tank... I received some of these annoying little buggers with some liverock a few weeks ago and I've been advised that

| Feeding frozen food | 18 Jan 2006 09:05 GMT | 6 |
I've got several freshwater tanks, so I'm used to feeding everything from flake, to pellet, to fresh (brine). Now, however, I'm trying to learn how to deal with frozen foods for my two new Clownfish. What I'm doing now is to thaw 1/2 a cube on a flat plate. Once it's all

| Couple of newbie questions... dumb a.s starfish & food | 18 Jan 2006 05:06 GMT | 9 |
Hi, yesterday I added my first inhabitents to my new reef/fish tank, 2 humbug damsels - doing very well and very entertaining to watch them chase each other around the tank! 5 blue legged hermit crabs - again doing very well and very active (these guys can really motor!) and a

| False Percula vs True Percula? | 16 Jan 2006 23:26 GMT | 4 |
I bought two 1" long tank-bred Percula Clownfish at my LFS yesterday and they're doing well. A friend of mine came over today, looked at the fish, and said that I had been sold False Percula Clownfish, not true Perculas. When I asked him what the difference was (IE how he ...

Hi all, my 80 gallon tank has 2 medium hermits, 1 green brittle star, 1 Emerald Mithrax Crab, 1 Lawnmower blenny, 1 Fridmani Pseudochromis, and 1 Flame Angel. And a bunch of snails. I've been VERY slow to add new life to the tank.

| Live rock growths | 15 Jan 2006 07:10 GMT | 19 |
At the risk of sounding like a complete ninny, I've made up a page of pics (dialup friendly) to see if any of you have the time and patience to identify some things that are growing on my live rock. I just can't seem to get my brain round all the stuff to learn with a saltwater ...

| white dots on fish | 14 Jan 2006 19:48 GMT | 2 |
I noticed my cole tang (small) had little white dots on her face and some on her body I never noticed before. She had also started being a little aggressive with a lawnmower goby I have too. This morning she didn't come out for breakfast......I'm worried. Any ideas of the dots?

| Storing ocean water | 14 Jan 2006 00:56 GMT | 31 |
If I were to go to a beach and get salt water, how long could I store it for and how should it be stored? I can probably get around 800 litres in one trip (2 1/2 hours each way) but the water would then be in 200 litre (44gallon) drums with only a

| What is it II ? | 14 Jan 2006 00:44 GMT | 28 |
Y'all solved the Chiton real quick. Now I have another for you. http://home.comcast.net/~bberg100/Aquarium/What-is-it-II.jpg It is painfully obvious I am a rank amateur at salt water tanks, but why is it so difficult to track down what things are? Or am I just to obtuse?

I just got back from a cruise Monday. We went to Catalina Island and went on the glass bottomed boat. It sure was fun. Those garibaldi fish sure were beautiful. Next time we are going snorkeling so we can see them up close and personal (and hopefully not get bitten). All ...
