How good are 4x65w power compacts for a 55g. tank.. 2x65w actinics and 2x65w 10k. I plan on running them on this schedule: actinic on @ 0700, @ 0900 both on untill 2030(830p)then actinics untill 2200 or so...Any ideas? any experience with PC lights and coral? i know MH are better

I have a CPR SR in sump skimmer. It skims very well as long as there is sufficient air getting to the pump. The little elbow fittings seem to clog easily, and I want to replace the Rio pump with a maxi-jet 1200. According to one website, amekaaquatics.com, you can get a venturi

I'm attempting to determine the flow rate of an overflow box for a new reef tank which is in the design stage. I have a formula provided to me by a civil engineer that I think is applicable, but would like to know how others have gone about determining their overflow rates.

Anyone have any opinion on or experience with GARF's "bulletproof reef"? It's a very simple, low cost system--uses a plenum, 3-4 tubes of NO flourescent lighting, no sump, no skimmer even for six months. It seems like a nice alternative to some of the setups you see

I have a 75 Gal tank for the past 4 years or so. I have FOWLR and a few fish. This morning everything was hunky dori, this afternoon, Its starting to get cloudy. The only thing I did to the tank was a partial Water change about 7 days ago, nothing since then. Can anyone help?
