| Coral placement? | 19 Feb 2006 02:34 GMT | 14 |
How do you put a coral in your tank? Sounds dumb I s'pose but I bought a leather coral a couple of months ago (only coral I've bought so far) and it came attached to a stupid little round rock that I hate. If the rock were a living thing then I'd have killed it by now.

| Deep Sand Bed No Skimmer | 18 Feb 2006 20:56 GMT | 1 |
I am starting a Deep Sand Bed fish only Salt water aquarium. I have a sand bed around 4 to 4.5 inches deep, plus I have about 65 lbs of live rock. What I was asking is a skimmer really needed to keep just fish? Or will the Deep sand bed and live rock be good enough. I would

| Shark | 18 Feb 2006 20:00 GMT | 15 |
Does anyone know where I can purchase a small leopard shark? I mean around a foot in length. It seems the liberal state of CA passed a law that they can't be sold for aquaria unless they are over three feet in length.

| Bristle worm hunter? | 18 Feb 2006 16:26 GMT | 21 |
I have a bristle worm problem in my reef tank: there are at least two larke worms that are hunting my hermit crabs. Ove time my crabs have been disapearing and empty shells apearing around the tank and I saw a 3" long worm capture one of them twice already.

| Salt tests | 17 Feb 2006 20:16 GMT | 21 |
I am using Coralife's salt and was getting Calcium readings of 600, Phosphates of 0 and KH of 5 using RO water mixed to a SG of 1.023. The RO water is made from creek water and has a pH of 7.5 but mixes up to 8.4 with the coralife salt.

| Introduction | 16 Feb 2006 23:51 GMT | 2 |
I've been lurking here for a few months so thought I'd introduce myself. I live Buckinghamshire in the UK and set up a 100 gallon reef tank just before Christmas, I've had tropical freshwater fish for the past 30 years. The bed of the tank has a couple of inches of coral sand ...

| setting up a new 135 gallon reef tank | 16 Feb 2006 03:24 GMT | 7 |
I'm setting up a 135 gallon reef tank. I get the tank from a friend and it is not set up for a sump. Oceanic recommends agains drilling it as well. I had planned to set it up with a plenum as I have read many good things about them. Is there a better way to go?
