This curious little chap was floating along on the surface of the water near a reef off the coast of Oahu's North shore. The body was about 3/8" in diameter. The "legs" were normally extended, as pictured, but would retract when touched. Each leg was bifurcated at

| Snails-What are they doing | 18 Apr 2006 14:14 GMT | 2 |
Last week I picked up 2 very large(3" or so in diameter, just a bit smaller than a baseball I'd say) turbo snails. One of the snails seems to want to eat algae and such off my glass, the other seems more interested in playing football with the other snail. He crawls on the

| Drain Size & Pump Size | 18 Apr 2006 06:13 GMT | 1 |
I purchased an acrylic tank 48x24x24 drilled for a 1 1/2" drain. I have two questions; first, what size pump would you suggest to return the water, and what size should I drill the return(s)? I am planning on a reef tank with soft corals if that helps at all.

A few days ago I went downstairs to feed the fish and my coral beauty and sailfin tang went beserk all over the tank. The pyjama cardinals and ocellaris didn't look too happy either. I stood there, moving on occasion though, watching and trying to think what could be wrong. After ...

| Rose anenome splitting | 15 Apr 2006 03:04 GMT | 92 |
I purchased a rose anemone about 8 months ago. About a month ago I noticed that it was noticeably bigger. It had split in two. I was thrilled with my success. On the weekend it did it again. I now have three rose anemones in my tank. Has anyone had a similar experience? My

| Oceanic megaflow | 13 Apr 2006 19:34 GMT | 3 |
I'm double posting this here and to RC--I know some people frequent both and I'm new to the whole overflow-sump thing, so here goes: 1: Oceanic 58RR w/ megaflow, running 1 day, converted from a 10yr old 30 sumpless. The megaflow isn't great at surface skimming 'cause of

I just finished building my custom sump setup for my tank and with the added room I had underneath I decided to add both a refug. and a coral prop zone. For my last birthday my wife bought me a 175W Metal Hailide ballast kit and a generic bulb (which I plan to replace). My main
