Need help!22 Jun 2006 15:13 GMT4
I live in the Orlando area and need someone to check my tank.  Is there
anyone out there that do water analysis and a system check?  Doing it myself
hasn't been successful.
Again, if you know of anyone that do home visits to check saltwater tanks
? about Cycleing Process20 Jun 2006 16:16 GMT2
My tanks been setup for about 6 weeks and the cycling process hasn't even
started.  I've got LR, LS, 2 fish, and 20 hermit Crabs in there, they have
been there for about 5 weeks.  Every thing I've read says it should be done
cycling at about 6 weeks.
Black spots on my cleaner shrimp20 Jun 2006 15:41 GMT20
One of my cleaner shrimp has developed some very dark black spots over
his back.  I noticed them a few days ago and took this picture
(warning, it's a 1.4M file):

Clown newb19 Jun 2006 11:09 GMT39
Hey guys my girlfriend and I are thinking about getting a clownfish for
our aqaurium. At the moment we have only had goldfish and the like, but
he have a 10 gallon aquarium that was recently vacated by the loss of a

RO membrane question18 Jun 2006 15:13 GMT7
Our house has an odd plumbing issue. Someone in years past set it up so
that a certain amount of hot water is fed through the cold water pipes,
apparently thinking this would keep the pipes from freezing in cold
weather.
Strange Clown Fish18 Jun 2006 14:38 GMT4
I have a very strange acting clown fish.  He is just a regular false
clown who I bought at the LFS a month ago.  The first day he ate a few
bites of plankton.  Since then he will not eat flake, dried bloodworms,
or any of the San Francisco Bay Brand frozen foods.  This includes the

extra foam from skimmer when adding water to tank17 Jun 2006 17:26 GMT4
I am very new with marine tanks.  I have a Coralife protein skimmer
that tends to overflow whenever I add new water to the tank (to replace
evaporated water).  I am using tap water, with a standard water
conditioner.
adding bubble sticks to salty16 Jun 2006 17:41 GMT12
I wanted to have a bubble wand or two in the back lenght of the aquarium for
the effect.  I was told by one person that bubbles in salt aquarium lead to
the salt collecting at the top glass, above water level, where the bubbles
"pop".  I assume this also leads to lower salinity ...

Remora upgrade16 Jun 2006 03:38 GMT4
I read  a while back that you can run a mag 3 pump on the remora pro. I
tried it and it over flowed. Doe's anyone have a better way of running the
remora pro than using the RIO that come with it ?

Powerhead screen14 Jun 2006 01:59 GMT7
Any of you had livestock sucked into your powerhead?  I've read about it a
bit and am looking to be proactive.
Any ideas on what I could buy or make to surround the powerhead to prevent
accidents?  I have a small Rio800 btw.
hydrometer dilemma13 Jun 2006 04:36 GMT61
I have a new Coralife Deep Six hydrometer that I've been using for the
past year or so.  But over the weekend I sorted through my trash can
full of aquarium supplies, and found my old "The Original" Seatest
hydrometer that I've had for probably 20 years.
Wandering anemone13 Jun 2006 00:25 GMT8
It's an old problem I know, just got a lovely light green bubble tip
anemone, but he cause trouble on his first night in the tank.
Currently he is sitting bang in the middle of a bunch of pulse coral
heads, and you can tell the coral is not at all pleased with the
