I like this forum.  You guys have been very helpful and keep it interesting.
I just got my Outer Orbit lighting system by CurrentUSA.  Awesome light by
the way.  Anyway I've read a few opinions on timing the lights and wanted to
hear some "live" information and what's been working ...
Copper Banded Butterfly fish10 Jun 2006 23:48 GMT8
Has anyone had any experience with these fish?
The LFS have rated it as a moderate risk to corals but I don't want it
destroying my reef.
Briefly, I have 100 gallon tank and the corals I don't want destroyed are a
LFS with super guarantee!10 Jun 2006 19:35 GMT4
So I'm browsing at the primary non-chain pet store in town, which has just
moved to a new location. Along with their new location they have a new
policy on marine livestock.

Injured anemone10 Jun 2006 15:45 GMT1
I've got a smallish bubble-tip anemone that got partially eaten by a
chocolate-chip star. Basically the main body is intact, but the
tentacles are nearly all gone. The anemone is still moving around the
tank at times (right now hanging off the back side of the tank near the
PC Ballast question10 Jun 2006 02:24 GMT1
I have used PC fixture I was given. The brand name is "Top". It came with 2
55w lamps. The fixture is pretty beatup, but works fine. I am thinking of
taking it apart and mounting the innards in a new housing. I am also
wondering if this fixture can run 65w lamps. If I plug a 65 ...

First Posting by New Reefer; Skimmer and Reef Question....05 Jun 2006 02:26 GMT3
So, my wife brings home this lovely all-glass corner tank, and she
fills it with saltwater,  hooks up a protein skimmer, plops in some
pieces of reef rock and three fish.  I come home from work, and Bam,
now I am a beginner reefer.  Many years ago, though,  I had extensive
Seahorse & Aiptasia02 Jun 2006 11:20 GMT4
So I've got a standard reef tank, LR/LS & skimmer.  Partitioned off a section
and put some seahorses in there.  Everything seems fine.
But of course, like most reef tanks, I've got constant low-level trouble with
bubble algae (valonia), aiptasia anemones, etc.
How can we aford to stay in this hobbie02 Jun 2006 07:10 GMT12
As you can all see by the last post: $400+ dollars for dead rock.
I'm having a dilemma right now.  My tank is looking pretty sweet right now.
However I would like to get more diversity in the tank
by buying different corals...color and form.
Hermit Crabs with Barnicles01 Jun 2006 20:05 GMT4
I am in Destin Fl. this week on vacation and was able to catch a few
salt water hermit crabs.  I am thinking these will make a great
addition to my saltwater tank (non-reef but lots of live rocks).
The problem I am having is a number of the crabs have small barnicles

everything he/she eats. The fish is happy and active and mouths almost
everything, but spits it all back out.  I have tried Seaweed Selects Green
Marine Algae, Formual Two flakes, and even some seaweed I ...
