Its owner stated that this tank was for freshwater and not salt.....  I have
never heard of such but thought I would ask the group at large if anyone had
ever heard of this?  Tank was bought used in 97.  Thanks in advance for your

a rusty color has hit some spots on the Rock----are these the dreaded

I understand that Harlequin Shrimp feed only on Starfish. Do they just "take
a little off"---or do they feed until the starfish is dead?
I love these shrimp---I guess them eating stars is natural----but how do you
reconcile sacrificing the starfish to them?

My Red Sea Test Kit has read .25 Ammonia for 2 weeks now.
The LFS tested for me and said their tests (cant remember the name) read  0
for both Ammonia and Nitrite.
I went back home and did the Red Sea test again. Same .25 result.

I just bought a Salifert KH test kit and have serious problems understanding
the readings.
When adding the KH solution drop by drop, the whole syringe is empty and no
color change.  It changes after an addittional .1 mL.

The ammonia has been pretty steady at .25 for about 11 days now. Is this
fairly normal? Should I still play the beer-drinking waiting game? (dont
mind it so much :)
Or is there some action to take?
