To Zoa,or not to Zoa26 Nov 2006 01:57 GMT6
I realize its mostly a matter of taste---but what are your feelings about
introducing Zoa colonies to your tanks? There are all sorts of  great deals
on the internet for some beautiful species, but am a bit reluctant to to
"pull the trigger" on the purchase. When I try to ...

Red Lobo looking bad23 Nov 2006 14:39 GMT4
I got a red lobo several months back and over time it has lost it's color
and is very bony.  It went from dark red to a light yellowish-pink color.
Until recently it would still try to puff up for a while but now never puffs
up.  I'm pretty sure it's a dead cause but I'm curious ...

Hello and thanks up front for all your facts on reef systems! I'm
starting to set up a new reef tank, 40g. I plan to have 20lbs live sand

I haven't been on this group for a long time, at least four years, I thought
there was a marketplace group too but I couldn't find it. If there is a
different newsgroup for selling stuff please let me know, and I apologize
for listing it here.

food receipe for reef tank20 Nov 2006 16:32 GMT1
I followed this newsgroup about five years ago. I had a 135 gal reef tank.
There was a great receipe for homemade reef food. I've lost the receipe and
have set up my tank again. Does anyone have a good receipe?
Thanks,

Could my Sg be impacting my Star Polyps?19 Nov 2006 20:22 GMT7
Around 3 weeks ago I bought some green star polyps - looked great in the
LFS - got them home and they didn't thrive....some came out but they
never fulfilled their potential....tried every position in the tank and
every flow option but no go....So I spoke to the LFS today and ...
Lighting question19 Nov 2006 01:34 GMT3
I'm planning to build a full hood for my 125 gallon tank. Eventually, I want to
put in three rows of high-intensity fluorescents and one row of actinics.
Moonlights would also be jammed in there somewhere.
I hope to buy just the lamp fixtures and mount them in the hood, rather ...
New Tank Very Cloudy19 Nov 2006 00:59 GMT3
I am just starting a tank - no fish or corals yet. I got everything
set up and running, then added 20 lbs of Garf's Grunge. For the next
12 hrs, I couldn't see more than 2" into the tank. After, things
settled a bit, but the water is still quite cloudy, nothing like what I
Identification and compatibility:  Barred Moray or Zebra Eel18 Nov 2006 16:36 GMT3
Moved the aquarium today.  Found an eel (never bought it so it must have
been a stowaway).  The pictures I've found of the Barred Moray and the Zebra
are very similar and that's what it looked like.  How can I tell the
difference?  Are either or both compatible with a reef?
