fish compatibility30 Dec 2006 21:55 GMT14
I have an opportunity to get a picasso trigger for a  great price. Trigger
is about 5-6" long.
Question is whether this would get along with the tanks current residents.
Or if it's just asking for trouble.
Stars and Clowns and Anemones, Oh My.30 Dec 2006 13:10 GMT27
Hey all,
I'm having a nice relaxing morning watching the fish swim and the
anemones sway in the "breeze". Then I noticed Chip the Chocolate Chip
Star creeping up over the back of the rock sneaking up on my anemones.

AIEEEEEEARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!
I guess I just learned my lesson about keeping my mag scraper up in the
corner of my tank.  Is there anyway to remove scratches from the inside
of a tank while there is water in it or is it a drain (and completely
Pump for 20 ft lift26 Dec 2006 16:11 GMT16
I'm thinking of moving my whole sump to my first floor that has a great
window w/ natural sunlight for a refugium.
I think it's about a 16ft rise back to my tank (20' for margin of
error), so would a regular oversized submersible pump work?  I'd expect

Nitrates in Saltwater Aquariums
By Jaime Rivera-Sierra, www.guayni.com
Belief it or not, Nitrogen (N) and Phosphorous (P) are limiting
nutrients in the oceans.  This means that producers such as diatoms and
Corals with T5 tubes23 Dec 2006 00:16 GMT4
I have just upgraded to 2*24w T5 lamps on my small reef tank. I currently
have soft corals doing ok.
Will i be able to keep sps corals etc with this setup?
TIA
Is this light adequate?22 Dec 2006 21:49 GMT18
I'm considering buying the Coralife HO fluorescent fixture for my tank. The tank
is a 125 gallon and is 23" deep. Here's a link to the fixture.

How to catch a Damsil?22 Dec 2006 21:24 GMT17
I have a blue fin damsil nearing maturity and it's beating up my
dragonnet badly and my coral beauty showed up with wounds as well
(although I'm not sure what happened to it).
I pulled out the dragonnet, but the damsil is hard to catch.  I tried
Tanks22 Dec 2006 20:53 GMT24
Does anybody know of a website that sells tanks?  Both the LFS and ULFS
have a 100-200% mark up on their products, so I'm assuming that carries
over to tanks as well.

Secrets the Pet Stores Don't Want You to Know22 Dec 2006 09:34 GMT7
Many pet stores unfortunately just see the money involved and couldn't
care less about the animals they sell. That's why they cram bettas into
those tiny cups. More bettas in more tiny cups means more money for
them.
Good sized sump/refugium22 Dec 2006 02:38 GMT17
Hey, I have a 3' tank running, and I would like to
get a nice sized sump/refugium for it - possible
without dismantling it, of course :-)
The cabinet opening is 24" long and 17" high...
Bubbletip Anemone's health21 Dec 2006 22:11 GMT17
I have recently put in a BTA in my tank (like a week ago) and he is not
looking so hot.  Like a small part of his body (~1/8) is curled up
really small, the rest of him looks fine with his tentacles spread out.
That part that is shrunk I was afraid was the melting look that I have
Copepods21 Dec 2006 17:21 GMT22
Another Newbie Question:  Are copepods the tiny white barnacle looking
things that coat the rocks, etc?  (That's what the guy that I bought the
tank from told me.)
Then I'm looking at this:
Feather Duster Question21 Dec 2006 16:49 GMT5
How do you tell if a feather duster is still in the world of the living? One of
mine hasn't shown a cluster of "feathers" for several days now and may have shed
them. I moved him out of a cave in the rocks onto the sand, and he apparently
didn't like it.
Beach vrs. Tank sand test21 Dec 2006 16:24 GMT10
I ran a test with the fresh beach sand (dug out of the surf) and my tank
sand.  I setup two small containers and added shrimp meat to both and
put them aside for 24 hrs.
The beach shrimp had a thick clear gel mucus on the shrimp and it reeked
