Decent 36" light fixture29 Jan 2007 19:23 GMT9
What fixture would you recomend for a 3 foot long tank ?
It is 58 gallon oceanic without center frame brace.
It is "reef-ready" tank with center back wall overflow.
Currently running with home-made 2 x 96W power compacts lamp.

Pseudochromis Health....28 Jan 2007 17:01 GMT7
Not that I'm concerned for the health of the Pseudochromis
BUT mine looks like it had a run in with a porcupine.
It's got small needle like things sticking out of it's face and it's mouth
is half open.

Diagnosing CoralLife Light Fixture28 Jan 2007 07:08 GMT9
I have a coralife MH light that is 2 years old.  It seems that one of
the power supplies is a little weak although the MH lights are
definitely old.  Only one of the power supplies can light up each light,
and after the light has been lit it won't re-light until it cools off.
Corals,Color,Light...........28 Jan 2007 06:47 GMT5
I have a rock with button polyps. When I bought the rock , 2 polyps were
bright neon green---the rest kind of a dull brownish green. One of the more
drab polyps is now morphing. It`s about half dull and half bright neon.
How does this happen? Can you alter the color of corals by ...

Sebae Annemone27 Jan 2007 15:07 GMT5
Bought it approx 1 year ago. It has turned brown and grown considerably, but
has not grown any new tentacles. As a result, it is huge but ony the
origanal tentacles. It still eats well and moves around the tank. Could this
be related to captivity? Any ideas?
What is this in my tank?26 Jan 2007 21:09 GMT2
I have 2 that I know of. They look like small lopsided starfish.
They measure 1/2 to 3/4 inches across. Any clues? Are they good or bad?

Calculating final nitrate level after water change26 Jan 2007 03:45 GMT7
I realize this is probably a fairly simple equation, but I'm really
struggling with it.  I'm trying to create a formula (perhaps to
eventually work into a classroom lesson) to predict the nitrate
concentration in the aquarium AFTER a partial water change.   This is
