I am in the process of setting up my first saltwater tank (55g), and have a few questions. I have included my basic plans as well, in-case anyone has any comments that could improve my first tank setup. I have read many posts on various boards that discuss new tank setups

I tested for silicates last night and nothing, nada, zip. I'm starting to wonder if it's just coraline algae trying to grow on the glass. I really have to work to get some of it off. --Kurt

Which is the price ladder when it comes to coral? Some tell me red mushrooms are on the top while other say purple. I saw a ricordea at saltwaterfish.com for $7.99, but in the LFS the want up to $30 for a single colored polyp.
