Green film on acrylic tank17 May 2007 02:43 GMT3
I recently upgraded my glass 46G bow front tank to a 125 acrylic.
I was so easy to clean my glass tank.
Now,  a green film, algae like is covering the tank.  I tried to clean it
but it's really stuck on the acrylic,  I'm afraid to scratch the tank.
Peacock Flounder16 May 2007 21:38 GMT2
Any comments on this fish?
I just picked one up at the LFS a few days ago but haven't seen much of him.
My Yellow tang was acting aggresive toward him, besides I have not seen him
eat neither.
1750+ pounds of new Southdown free for the hauling!13 May 2007 07:17 GMT2
Thats 5 bags short of a full pallet of 40 bags......50# each bag.
It has to go or it gets dumped next weekend.  I'll use it to fill in
holes and ruts in the lawn if its not moved out for aquarium use. I
got it for free and it can go for free. Its old packs of sand but its
How much flow for a reef tank12 May 2007 21:26 GMT1
I noticed when the pumps are off at feeding time,  my corals start to get
bigger and look better. I even turned off my 2 power heads to leave my tank
completely quit and calm.
However, I know flow is necessary to oxigenate the water and to keep the
Lion Fish in the Atlantic12 May 2007 01:26 GMT4
I discovered that lion fish have established themselves in the atlantic.
Apparently, enough escaped to form a colony to start breeding and a few
have gotten large.  I suppose some aquarist decided to release them.
The speer fishermen have been destroying them on site, and the local

I just acquire a large sweeplips.  The thing is,  it doesn't seems to eat
nothing other than ghost shrimp.
How can I get this fish interested in regular food (frozen, flakes, pellets)
?

refugium or not?09 May 2007 12:32 GMT2
I am going to set up a 55 gallon reef tank and will have a skimmer and live
rock.  I was considering a refugium, but dont want to hassle with it really.
Is a refugium really necessary?  If I don't go with a refugium, but do use a
skimmer and live rock, is there anything else ...
Shore snorkeling in Jacksonville, FL07 May 2007 16:17 GMT10
Any interesting places in Jacksonville, Florida?
Will be on a business trip in the area so ... :-)
Any places in the city itself worth seeing?
Something like a spectacular aquarium/fish stores? :-)
Possibly sand source.04 May 2007 22:07 GMT13
My mother recently bought some sand to fill cracks in her brick walks. She
complained that it's so fine and white that it's stained the brick. She's unsure
if it will ever wash off. Sounds like it might be a high-calcium sand? If so, it
might be good for aquariums.

Folks;
Is there any product out there that is simply a motor which rotates a
mounted powerhead, similar to the OsciWave (which is no longer
available)?
