White Patches on Live Rock24 Jun 2007 00:48 GMT6
Hey there.
I have noticed that the top of my live rock has developed a bleach
white appearance on most surfaces. Looking around previous posts it
seems like this is a sign of dead coraline algae.

New reef tank doing great - Nano struggling in the heat14 Jun 2007 14:52 GMT18
Well I always thought that the level of T8s in the tank would be a
problem and I'm certainly being proved right.....the corals are very
unhappy - the blue legged hermits, clown fish, urchins, snails do not
seem to care in the slightest....

Hi all, my tank just sprang a leak. It is in the bottom rear corner, where
the side and back glass come together. Maybe 1/2 inch from the bottom of the
tank. Does anyone know of a way to fix this without draining the tank and
removing everything in it? I have no practical place ...

I bought a new skimmer and this is my first time ever using one.
It is a hang on the tank type and is rated for 180 gallons, but I have it on
an already established 30 gallon tank.  Reason I got it so big is I plan on
setting up a 55 gallon in the near future.

algae growth06 Jun 2007 19:05 GMT1
I have a year old reef tank with not too much in it.  Lately, one of the
rocks has been growing a big "beard" of green stringy algae.  The hermit
crabs don't seem interested in it.  I think it's starting to spread to
the other rocks, and I really don't want a tank full of green ...
Brown Algae?04 Jun 2007 19:10 GMT9
Hey---
My rockwork is about 85% + coraline alge. But about 10% has a rusty colored
alge covering. It scrapes off relatively easily.
