Last night it wasnt there, but this morning my clownfish has what looks like teeny tufts of cotton growing on a couple of his fins... Any thoughts?

What do you guys think? I have a golden headed sleeper goby who seems to be eating well etc...but I'm concerned about a lack of pods in the tank...is purchasing them a viable option? Mitch

I went and got paver sand at Homedepot out of habit. Am I supposed to use play sand? The paver sand isn't very consistent.

OK so those who have been following my saga know I'm about a month in to my setup. It's been running well with a few snails and crabs added just a couple days ago. Algae seems to be getting under control as they do their thing.

I notice my LFS has some set ups with regular Fluorescent Spiral lights, the ones that are supposed to be Energy Efficient, using a fraction of energy from regular bulbs(100watts=~15watts). His coral looks great.

I just picked up a new monti yesterday, and on the base of the rock were three fuzzy mushrooms. One of them is white in the center, though the remainder is a nice lavender. Would this be bleaching, or can this be normal coloration? The other two shrooms are solid

These amazing mushrooms have survived everything. Fortunately they are one of my wife's favorite corals. The two with bubbles on them (mush1) she paid over $50 for them at the LFS. Anyone know what they are and are they worth $50? She just comes home with this stuff I can't stop ...
