Any thoughts?
Moving a PowerHead05 Dec 2007 23:00 GMT9
I added another powerhead to a tank, and  my skimmer filled up in a
fraction of the time.  :-)
This one doesn't have a very powerful jet, but rated at 800 gph.  I'm
thinking that I should just start moving it around, so I flush the
Cooling again05 Dec 2007 22:24 GMT11
Well, it's that time of year in Florida when temperatures are all over
the map from high 70's to low 50's.  Problem is that my tanks will also
move all over the place.
I'm starting to just put the air conditioner on when I leave the house,

I went and got paver sand at Homedepot out of habit. Am I supposed to use
play sand?  The paver sand isn't very consistent.

Bristleworms in tank - good, bad, indifferent?04 Dec 2007 00:47 GMT38
OK so those who have been following my saga know I'm about a month in
to my setup.  It's been running well with a few snails and crabs added
just a couple days ago.  Algae seems to be getting under control as
they do their thing.
New ENERGY EFFICIENT Fluorescent bulbs03 Dec 2007 01:42 GMT4
I notice my LFS has some set ups with regular Fluorescent Spiral lights, the
ones that are supposed to be Energy Efficient, using a fraction of energy
from regular bulbs(100watts=~15watts).
His coral looks great.
Do shrooms bleach?03 Dec 2007 01:27 GMT5
I just picked up a new monti yesterday, and on the base of the rock
were three fuzzy mushrooms.  One of them is white in the center,
though the remainder is a nice lavender.  Would this be bleaching, or
can this be normal coloration?  The other two shrooms are solid
Mushrooms02 Dec 2007 23:12 GMT1
These amazing mushrooms have survived everything. Fortunately they are one
of my wife's favorite corals. The two with bubbles on them (mush1) she paid
over $50 for them at the LFS. Anyone know what they are and are they worth
$50? She just comes home with this stuff I can't stop ...
Cottony growth on clwn fish resolved02 Dec 2007 23:01 GMT7
So the regulars may remember I posted a few weeks back about my
clownfish having a white, cottony growth on a couple of his fins.  Per
suggestion of the LFS I added a cleaner shrimp to my tank...I didnt
mind, I wanted one anyway...but beyond that, I watched him 'clean' the
Sick Foxface HELP!!!!02 Dec 2007 22:54 GMT2

used to swim off when ever I got near the tank. lately, he's been swimming
near the top, and not moving when I go to feed the tank (Not normal for him)
Today I notice his one eye is almost completely ...

pool filter and I have a skimer as well. I have had this set up fo
over a year now and things are good but I get a lot of red brown alga

So I've been running the protein skimmer...with only 3 relatively
small fish, a few crabs and snails, and a cleaner shrimp, and want to
make sure I have it going right:
The skimmer has all the bubbles all hte way up to the waste cup, but
