We have had exotic birds for years, everything but a Congo Grey. I have read articles saying what a great bird they are, also the raves from this newsgroup. So I thought they must be the perfect bird to have:-). We bought a baby, finished hand feeding her, loved her to pieces ...

| Beak Question | 29 Jul 2003 04:44 GMT | 3 |
I have just noticed that my CAG has a light spot on his beak. It is on the top part of the beak about a 1/2 cm from the tip and about 1 cm long. It looks as though the colour has worn off and it is the same colour as the beak of a TAG.

| Laying eggs twice in one season! | 28 Jul 2003 17:03 GMT | 10 |
This is insane! My hen has layed eggs twice this season and I'm worried for her since I've read that it's incredibly hard on her little body. (They're not going to hatch again since she's a single mom.)

| Parsley | 28 Jul 2003 15:09 GMT | 6 |
My mom just told me that when she was a child in Greece, they believed that parsley was poisonous to parrots. I have found no evidence to support this. Is there any validity to this claim or is it an old myth? Pete

| Hungry Cockatiel! | 28 Jul 2003 11:14 GMT | 2 |
"Feed Me!!!" she says, banging on her hanging food dish. My female tiel Loreena has taken to the habit of sticking her head into her food dish and banging her beak repeatedly back and forth against the sides. She'll do this in the morning before

I read in a Barrons book I can keep a AFC baby in a small cage for the first year to make it feel safer and let him/her get use to the enviroment, the book says a cage as small as 20"x22" is good. I have a nice 22"x24"x60" cage I could use.

| Hamster-style Water Dispensers | 26 Jul 2003 14:04 GMT | 7 |
Has anyone used one of those rodent-style water bottles. You know the upside down ones with the spout? I ask because my hen likes to crap in her water and I'd sure prefer it if she'd drink clean water.

I have heard and read more than a few opinions on pelleted foods vs "real" foods. Am interested in the opinions of the group as to which they feel is better and why.
