hi, my cockatiel who up untill now I believed to be male has just laid an egg, it is obviously unfertilised but what do I do in the best interests of the bird? It is sitting on it etc and I don't wish to distress it any more than I have to, any and all suggestions welcomed TIA

Well, it's been nearly three weeks since I got back from vacation and retrieved a very sorry looking Yanco from being boarded at the pet store. Her feathers looked messy and gunky, and she was continually shedding a dander snowstorm.

Just got 32 tiels, they are mostly, breeders. Some babies. About 5 babies. They are all wild. Is there a way to calm them down. Without it being a trauma for them, and bloody hands for us. Hubby wants me to use gloves, but does that make them more afraid. Any helpful hints ...

I've looked up and down the web for info on what is necessary to move to Australia with my CAG and TAG. Everything seems geared towards dogs and cats and the only thing about birds is that they will be destroyed at the airport.

I have a male cockatiel a litle over a year old. A friend's sister has baby tiels. I can get one. My tiel to very attached to me and is talking. I've heard if I get the other bird he won't be attached to me anymore and will stop talking. Is this true even if they are kept in

Our two birds they laid 5 eggs first time to which 4 hatched but they didn't feed them and all died. Second time round now and 5 eggs 2 have hatched so far the first bird just died due to no food the parents do not look interested in the chicks! What

Just how succeptable are cockatiels to drafts? I'm thinking about getting a 'tiel but am concerned how they might handle drafts. They won't be *too* bad but then again they won't be to the point of not being noticable either, and what with the winter months coming soon...

Do any of you know if cockatiels are susceptible, and if the disease can be transferred from crow to cockatiel through human touch? The vet clinic says "no", but I would like to know if anyone else has some accurate information on this.
