new aviary all finished :0)12 May 2004 15:05 GMT2
Spent the morning putting finishing touches to the new tiel aviary and
catching up the birds and putting them in. As I am mixing species within
this aviary (tiels, and pyrrhura conures and canaries) I had to move
them all at the same time to avoid territorial squabbles. The tiels ...

Prodigious pooper09 May 2004 18:39 GMT4
I have two female tiels that have both been laying eggs for about two weeks
and taking turns sitting on them.  One of the two has started pooping large
(i mean enough for a duck!) amounts, a bit runny and quite smelly.   She
appears normal otherwise - alert, not out of sorts.
Cleaning Cage09 May 2004 00:14 GMT72
We have two cockatiels and clean there cage each week by taking it outside
and washing with with water and soap (dish washing). While this cleans the
cage within a few days the cage will begin to smell. We love our birds and
realize this is part of the responsibilty, is there ...

Food Question05 May 2004 20:52 GMT35
Earlier today my cockatiel flew down and helped itself to some dry breakfast
cereal my daughter was eating (for anyone in the UK they were 'Shreddies',
not sure how they get marketed elsewhere but basically a wheat based
cereal).

To truly love another, you must first love yourself. And it wouldn't kill you to wash your hands in between either.

Moth annoyances03 May 2004 22:13 GMT9
I check through some of the older threads about the little moths
(thought to be an Indianmeal moth?) that 'tiel owners sometimes
experience.
My guess is that the moths are not limited to tiel owners but how do
Fertile Egss available anywhere?01 May 2004 21:23 GMT3
I have a pair of tiels that haven't had a successful clutch in about 4
years, they had 2 in the prior years. They are 7 and 5 years old. They love
to be parents and the female is always spitting out eggs but again I believe
that the eggs that they have now are not fertile.
