We sent Cosmo across the Rainbow Bridge last night.  It was clear to
all of those around him that he'd reached the point where his life
held no joy anymore and that to keep him alive would be cruel and
selfish.  He passed away surrounded by people who loved him & who were

It was one year ago today that I made the decision and put my
Miniature Schnauzer Cosmo to sleep.  About a month prior he had fallen
off of the bed & ruptured a disk in his back; our choices were $3000
surgery that MIGHT help him or trying extended crate rest and allowing

My ex-husband and i just put down our 13-yr old cocker spaniel.
That dog helped raise our sons, one of whom is away at college and said
goodbye to the dog over the phone.
I am so sad. :-(

His name was Fritzi and I just lost him yesterday. I found him lying in

years ago.  He survived toxoplasmosis, seizures which caused brain damage,
a bad liver, a heart murmer, severe burn, toxins from human medications, and
