Gourami Suggestions31 Oct 2003 22:51 GMT7
Any suggestions for a gourami species tank?  It's a heavily planted 55
gallon tank that I'd like to stock with a variety of gouramis.  What is the
recommended group size?  Male to female ratio?  Compatible gourami species?
Tank Height31 Oct 2003 18:25 GMT6
For several years I've had a 20in tall 75G tank.  I am going to
replace my tank soon and was thinking about going with a 24in tall
tank.  Is anyone else using a 24in tall tank?  I know that the light
hitting the bottom would be weaker as a result.  I am already running

Well let me start off by apologizing for the length of this post. To tell
you where I want to go, I will start by telling you where I've been. I have
a 29gal planted tank with fluorite substrate, fluval 204 canister, compact
fluorescent lighting, and pressurized CO2. My inhabitant ...

Yet another Newbie and Filter Seeker30 Oct 2003 02:05 GMT9
So I am new to all of this. I just moved to Buffalo NY last month and
I just purchased a 72 gal bow front and would like your suggestions on
filters for a plant tank. I read thru most of the messages right up to
'99 but kinda figured I would throw this question out again.

I've introduced today 10 little guys to my 100gallon planted tank.
I really don't have a big algae problem but I don't mind having them eating
it....
I read in some places they prefer soft water and might eat java moss and

I regard myself as very new to to keeping fish.  I enjoy it very much and
have read up a lot about the various species and tank setups  I monitor the
water closely.  Nitrite is somewhat high - but not dangerous.  I fancy real
plants, but have been rather unsucessful with them.  I am ...
additional aeration at night needed with C02 injection?29 Oct 2003 10:49 GMT11
I just thought I'd toss this around the newsgroup and see what kind of
opinions I get: What does everyone think about adding more aeration at night
when the lights are off and plants have reversed their gas roles. I have
seen a few of my fish dwelling towards the water surface at ...
CO2 - Aqualine Buschke, Milwaukee, or Aqua Medic?29 Oct 2003 10:05 GMT10
I'm looking for a complete CO2 system with a solenoid valve, without the CO2
bottle/tank or a PH controller (yet ;-).
These three companies seem to be the "main stream" setups and are all
relatively close in terms of price.  Are they relatively close in terms of

Here's a link:

Eheim 232727 Oct 2003 09:18 GMT2
Has anyone had any experience with the Eheim wet/dry + heater canisters?
Will I be able to feed CO2 from a pressurized CO2 tanks with it?
Should I get a wet/dry filter at all? or just the canister filter?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Metal halide question26 Oct 2003 23:27 GMT3
I've got one important question. Can I use a 150W Aqualine 10000K MH bulb
over amano style aquarium? I've got unused bulb from my saltwater aquarium
and I want to use it. Plants will be ok or not under this kind of lightning?
Isn't 150W too much for 80x35x40(height) cm tank? The ...

imeasurable.Plant growth is just not what I'd like so I've decided
to dose those two compounds.I can't find any greenlight stump

CO2 bottle consumed after 2 weeks24 Oct 2003 07:32 GMT5
Two weeks ago I've bought my first pressurized CO2 system - effect was
tremendous!
The sad thing it that the bottle(500grams) is now empty - frustrating...
The pressure was about 0.8 bar, bubble per second till you could not count
