| Gravity dripper (IV drip) | 27 Feb 2005 19:01 GMT | 1 |
I decided to try the IV drip method for fertilizing my plant tank, after reading about it here. So I headed off to my favourite junk (surplus) store to see what they had in medical supplies. I found a FLU VEN 0160 for $2.95 CND, which is rated at 20 drops per ml. I was hoping for ...

| Need More Light; Hood Options? | 26 Feb 2005 04:44 GMT | 4 |
I have a 55 Gallon setup, that is typical of what you get at Petsmart. It's about 4.5 feet long, maybe 18 inches deep. It has two hood lights. I recently moved to live plants, and some are doing well, but some are not. For example my Amazon Sword Plants seem to be starving. My gut ...

I am looking for a good supply of plants in Central Wisconsin. The local LFS in infested badly with snails, and who knows what. So many the plants look brown. And the variety is limited to one type. In a nearby city, the chain Pet Stores don't have a clue what they have, and

| Complete aquatic plant fertilizer for fishless tank? | 23 Feb 2005 12:54 GMT | 1 |
Does anyone know of a complete aquatic plant fertilizer that could be used in a fish-free bowl? I want to start growing some java moss and hornwort for a pond I'm planning. PMDD looks close, but it lacks phosphate and I suspect is lower in nitrate and potash than I will need.

| Substrate | 21 Feb 2005 08:34 GMT | 5 |
I've just transformed my 29 gal tank into a planted tank. Added CO2, lights to make 2 wpg, but I didn't change the substrate. I have just plain aquarium gravel right now. Will this do OK? I'm assuming there are plenty of differing opinions, but any suggestions would be helpful.
