| Java Fern reproduction | 31 Jul 2005 04:21 GMT | 2 |
How does Java Fern seed itself? I've got a Java Rock in the Betta tank and I've started to notice some Algae growing. One spot of Algae has long threads growing from it, bit it's too thick for Hair Algae. It looks like Java Moss growing out of the Algae spot?

I've been out of the hobby for over a decade but I ended up with a great deal on a huge acrylic tank (79.5x18.25x24) that I just couldn't pass up. However, I've never dealt with an acrylic tank before and noticed that there are two "holes" cut out of the top piece for

| Maracyn in UK | 29 Jul 2005 19:20 GMT | 3 |
Is Maracyn available in the UK - I assume vets may stock it? Just in case BGA rears its ugly head. I may be paranoid but I think can see a little creeping up from the bottom of my substrate, visibl from the front glass. I've heard that Maracyn is great at treating it

I am getting ready to setup a planted 75 gallon aquarium tank. I have put about an inch layer of Flourite on the bottom of the aquarium. I want to use play sand from Toys R. Us or a hobby store for the substrate. My questions is how hard is this to keep clean? And will it ...

| What's the best way to rid a lake (27 year old condo property) waterline of a tree-weed species?... | 19 Jul 2005 02:58 GMT | 11 |
It's a small batch Alder trees that once established they just go wild and, considered more like a weed in the Norhwest. Is there a product on the market where I could snip them young and rub something on the cut area and have it affect ***only*** its own root system?

| What do I do with the plants now? | 18 Jul 2005 16:55 GMT | 4 |
Okay, so I bought a plant (oz-something sword?) and just dropped it into my betta's 2.5 gallon tank. He liked it so much that I decided to buy another plant (mini sword?). This time I read the plant sign on the tank(s) at Wal-Mart. It said that I should

I stopped at the LFS to pick up some Java Moss for the GF and I saw an interesting red plant for the Tropical tank. Unfortunately I wasn't paying enough attention to the name and I can't make out the invoice. It looks something like Red Strata, but I could not find any plants ...

I'm researching/designing my own wet/dry trickle filter. There seems to be an abundance of info on the net but one thing still baffles me. How is everyone getting a $15 powerhead to lift water from the filter back into the top of the tank? I have tried several methods with the ...
