Maybe I missed a basic concept here - can someone explain this to me?
Assume, for the sake of argument, that straight out of the tap, my water has
a KH of 2 and a PH of 8.
So, I add CO2 to 15ppm, which drops my PH to 6.6.

About a month ago I added three rocks (well, 2 large and several small
matching ones) to my aquarium and a few days later my male dwarf
gourami began to loose color, stop building nests and won't spawn.

"Not enough light for healthy plants = algae.  
Too much light and not enough CO2 for healthy plants = algae.
Too much CO2 and not enough light = dead fish and algae.

Planted 55 to a non planted, now I want to go back to planted. My Raph is
huge now and likes it under the plants better than in his flowerpot and
several caves. Don't wanna get rid of him... help?!?? Is there a way to
discourage his digging? Using sand and lateralite sprinkled in ...
