| Not much luck with plants in my 5 gal tank? | 22 Jul 2006 17:06 GMT | 6 |
I have a 5 gal hex tank with one betta in it. I have one java fern that has survived a couple of years, but can hardly be considered to flourish. I have tried amazon swords a few times, that seem to slowly die.

| water circulation | 19 Jul 2006 21:02 GMT | 1 |
I remember having had quite modest success with plants so far and I'm guessing I'm getting my water circulation/aeration wrong. Most of the time I had too much aeration and only afterwards I realized it harms plants. But a few times I had fishless, plant-only setups without any

| My own question about fluorescent lighting.... | 12 Jul 2006 19:31 GMT | 5 |
Hi, I've been reading here for a while and now have a question. I have a t12 25 or 40 watt shoplight fixture (48 inches) on one of mytanks, is it true I can use t8 bulbs with it as well (I am assuming the t8 bulbs would be required to be 48 inches long and 25 or 40 watts in power)?
