I have a 5 gal hex tank with one betta in it.  I have one java fern
that has survived a couple of years, but can hardly be considered to
flourish.  I have tried amazon swords a few times, that seem to slowly
die.

Can the disposible CO2 bottles used for welding be used to provide CO2
for a plant tank...
Also how long would one of these bottle (700g) last in a 60 gallon tank.

    I'm having a problem with what I would call 'black alge' on my plants
and driftwood.  I have a 55 gallon discus planted tank, 2.4 watts/gallon, pH
6.2, temp 84-85F, GH 75ppm, KH 120ppm, 0  Nitrite and less then 20ppm
