I recently set up a 20 gallon 16" high tank, and it will be for the most
part a planted tank.  I have a few things in it right now, but the only
name that springs to mind is WaterSprite (center of the tank), and 1
Anubias (not sure of which kind) that fills a corner and is the ...

My intention is to maintain a plant display tank, but algie is always doing
to be a problem, so can anyone advise me on the best choice of shrinps or
fish to control the algie?

Never paid much attention to aquarium plant requirements per se, but I
do have quite a large amopunt of Java Fern. I see its not recopmended
to have the roots in substrate according to an article I was
reading.....Mine are all planted in fine gravel and to me appear to

The kids and I picked up some great ocean shells from the beach, and I
was wondering if I could somehow make them safe for introduction for my
freshwater tank.  They would be a great hidey hole for the amano and
blueberry shrimp during their molts.

I have a heavily planted 66 gallon tank that has been setup for a number of
years. Lately I'm experiencing a greasy green film that floats on top of the
water. All the tank parameters' are ok. No problem with nitrates, or
nitrogen. I do a water change roughly once every 2 weeks ...

First off i have to say that i am living in taiwan and as far as asking
any store workers questions is out. As well, any products i purchase
are also completely in chinese so all i have to go by are names like
'plant growth', with no idea what is in them, with the exception of

I refilled my CO2 bottle today, as it was just about empty. I went to
replace the tank and I noticed that the plastic bubble counter is cracked
all along the bottom where it screws into the pressure regulator. This was
likely caused by exposure to the CO2. I guess I'll replace it ...
