NO3 level and growth of aquatic plant ref: Paul Krombholz 196629 Mar 2007 08:24 GMT8
I was thumbing through a well known, but older Limnology text
(Hutchinson, 1975, Vol 3 Limnological Botany pg 351-357) when I saw a
nice graph showing growth rate vs NO3 concentration.
It seems Paul had found that 20-80 ppm and above was the ideal range
bleach treatment for soaking plants to remove snails, how long?24 Mar 2007 19:07 GMT3
I'm over run with trumpet snails and have decided to completely gut my tank,
wash and shift the snails out of the gravel, dip my plants in a 5% solution

I made a trade today. I swapped out a nice big softball size chunk of
pipe organ coral for two large chunks of ready to use drift
wood........so, whats the best method of attaching java ferns etc to
the drift wood, rubber bands?    I managed to thread some roots of
CO2 and nitrogen status in plants17 Mar 2007 07:45 GMT1
While not aquatic, this study does show how the relations between CO2
increases(just 2x ambient in this case, for aquariums using 30ppm CO2
as a measure, this is 10X ambient, so likely more effect) and how and
why a higher concentration of NO3 is useful in conjunction with high
Amazon Sward Plant16 Mar 2007 23:12 GMT5
