I have a new socket for a 175 watt MH pendant lamp but am not certain
how to wire it.  The ground wire is a gimme, but do I hook the white
(hot) wire up to the spring that touches the center "electrode" of the
bulb or to the threaded part of the socket that the bulb screws

Several years ago many folks claimed excess nutrients caused algae
such as "excess" PO4 and NO3. I wanted to know how much excess it
would take for this to occur, so I added it to see(testing). Some
simple test can easily prove these assetions are patently false.

That's my plan. I'll watch pH, because I can, but I won't play with
it. I'm putting Silicate and Borate in to enable the metabolism of
transition metals. I was putting Phosphate in, but someone tells me
that plants need it more in their roots than in their leaves. If it's

I've seen a site (UK) that supplies aquatic plants by post. They have a
variety of options including buying a box of plants by aquarium size. Anyone
know of the company?
