Pics of Ceasar and Amadeus..:)30 Apr 2004 04:44 GMT15
Ok I have posted a pic of each of the babies.... Just don't ask me which is
which... I can only tell by the amount of pink at the tip of their tails but
they were hiding them and I didn't want to stress them out by moving
them...:)  They all get on well and the Babies have chosen to ...
Rat excitement29 Apr 2004 00:44 GMT10
I know most of you are experienced rat owners, but I'm just a new rat mom of
one month and I am so surprised at the fun I am having with Stewart and
Caramel. Stewart has turned into a love bug. He loves to cuddle and crawl
all over me. It just amazes me that he could be that ...
Swollen rat!28 Apr 2004 21:20 GMT7
My sister called me in a panic yesterday, telling me that one of her
three female rat was all swollen! She says everything is swollen --
head, body, feet, everything except the tail! The rat is also very
lethargic.
GGMR strikes again...28 Apr 2004 15:44 GMT6
Well, she was all alone, and so small... My boyfriend just managed to stop
himself throwing a hissy fit in the middle of the garden centre when he saw
I had a carry-box in my hands. Cleo's won him over now, though. She's tiny,
and white, with eyes so deep ruby that most people would ...
Baytril28 Apr 2004 13:06 GMT17
Hi I wonder if somebody can give me some advice. I have a rat that isn't too
well, we aren't sure what it is. The only signs that something is wrong, is
that he's loosing weight. I've taken him to the vets and have been given
Baytril. The only problem is, he won't take it out of the ...
GMRS ....27 Apr 2004 23:42 GMT11
Yup, we went and did it again...LOL.  Two little 5-6 week old boys...LMAO
They have grey coloured fuzz at the moment so Im not sure what colour they
will be when they grow up.  We don't have grey coloured rats in this country
as far as I know.  The one Hannah chose was a fairly ...

Is Asprin safe?26 Apr 2004 07:49 GMT11
I think i remember reading on this group some time ago that junior aspirin
or paracetemol can be used a pain reliever for rats. Our Max has had a fall
and although we cannot see any sign of injury he seems to be
limping.Obviously i would take him to the vet if there was any serious

Digging box - I misundertood the "game"25 Apr 2004 23:07 GMT8
I built a digging box as an experiment a while ago, using cardboard
filled with "Perlite" (Horticultural potting medium). That fell apart and
made a right mess. So, did a proper one using a plastic tank with a small
opening in the lid (you know, those things we take our rats to ...

Calling all British viewers24 Apr 2004 11:46 GMT9
At 3.10am tonight (or tomorrow morning, depending how you look at it)
there's a German-made film on channel five called A Rat's Tale - a love
story set in the rodent community beneath the streets of Manhattan. Thought
any night owls out there might be interested.
Looking a warm hearted person24 Apr 2004 04:29 GMT1
Hi, do you or anyone you know want to adopt my two chinchillas? I have two,
one mother and one son. Because of the very limited time I can spend with
them, I am asking someone who are warm hearted or if you know someone who
loves chinchillas to email me and I will be glad to let ...
gonad removal23 Apr 2004 09:50 GMT7
Well I have decided that after being bit by Teddy again while cleaning the
cage that it is time for testicles to come off. But if Teddy is the dominant
one and he is snipped will this make the next  dominant one  aggressive and
the whole biting process starts again. They are all 5 ...
How to determine age23 Apr 2004 09:33 GMT5
How can I determine the age of my newest rat. When I got him he had not
dropped his testicles (that was on Saturday last), but within 24 hours after
I introduced him to my current rat, Stewart, his testicles dropped.
Stewart has been showing classic dominance over Caramel since this ...
