What does it mean when a you're playing with your rattie during out-time,
and after 5 or 10 minutes she suddenly starts nibbling at your fingers over
and over?  Is it...

Rats to the Rescue!30 Sep 2004 09:12 GMT2
Rats are being trained to find victims buried in rubble from earthquakes &
bomb blasts.
The research has been funded by the Pentagon. Rats can get into places
search dogs cannot fit. The rats are fitted with tiny radio packs which
Bomb-sniffing Rats in Mozambique29 Sep 2004 18:49 GMT2
This story first hit the news a couple years ago, but as the project
continues, it is again getting coverage, as in this Reuter's news item:
<http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=ourWorldNews&storyID=6341009>
The article includes a picture of Jerry the Gambian Giant Rat, in ...
Interesting rat article 29 Sep 2004 11:42 GMT1
I came across this article today about rats in Kyrgyzstan that evolved
from albino lab rats and wild rats to make a breed of 'super rat' that
actually thrives on poison.

I HATE making this decision :o(29 Sep 2004 11:31 GMT11
Morning All,
I am finding myself in the same predicament as I have found myself in so
many situations with my past babies and I hate it everytime, and I'll never
get used to doing it.
Stoner Rats Less Susceptible to Brain Cancer29 Sep 2004 04:40 GMT1
"That $2 million study, conducted by the US National Toxicology Programme,
concluded that mice and rats administered high doses of THC over long

Any ideas on fixing a foot29 Sep 2004 02:09 GMT6
I have a rat that's about a year and two months old.  We got him just after

noticed that the toe was more turned under and inflamed and ...
Spaying/Neutering Ugh!28 Sep 2004 02:47 GMT13
Some people have asked me what I have decided to do about spaying Maggie
and/or neutering the boys.
I live in a remote area, and there is a local vet here, but I don't like her
at all, and I believe she has a strong prejudice against rodents.  She may

Female urine marking25 Sep 2004 05:54 GMT11
My two young boys don't mark anything yet, and Hailey my older female
doesn't either.  But Maggie, my 1-year old hairless girl is a marking
maniac.  She marks everything, especially me, over and over.  Is this a
behavior only done in new surroundings, when they're nervous, or is it ...
If refrigerators could talk.25 Sep 2004 04:00 GMT3
I've had these pics up on a couple of forums for a bit, and thought I'd
throw them on Webshots. It is a sequence (should be viewed in sequence) of
pics demonstrating how difficult if not disastrous  it can be to use the
timer on a camera for a staged shot of you and your rats. I ...

New Martins Cage25 Sep 2004 03:27 GMT8
Well my Martins 695 FINALLY arrived after a 7 week back order.  The cage is
huge - the boys are freaking out with all the space (2 balconies and 2 full
floors).  Unfortunately I am an idiot and attached the front panel upside
down, so that door #1 opens up right on a ramp and door ...
Strange infected sore?24 Sep 2004 22:42 GMT5
I was wondering if I could get some opinions on a small sore that our
2-1/2-year-old guy has on his side.
