hates it.
Back to rat keeping.29 Oct 2004 21:55 GMT4
First off I'd like to say hi, I haven't been here in a long time and
it's nice to see some activity. I used to keep rats, but the past
couple years I haven't felt the need to.
That is until recently, first I got some ratties at petco. That went
Multi-level cage29 Oct 2004 13:43 GMT31
I went to a pet store today and the only one multi-level cage the have.
I didn't buy it.  Because I have a question to ask before I buy it.
The cage I saw has a two ways to use- the 3 stories cage is attached to
a 10 gallon tank.  It says the tank can be removed and to add a bottom
Allergic to male rats only?  28 Oct 2004 17:08 GMT9
Hi to all, and thanks for all the advice I've gotten from here.  I'm fairly
new to rats, I got a little girl last Christmas (from Petco) and loved her
to death - I guess literally.  When she died of myco back in April I
contacted a breeder and finally got three little boys in ...
Update on Maggie and Jacques28 Oct 2004 12:17 GMT6
Maggie had her surgery yesterday and is now a spayed woman.  She came
through just fine and everyone at the vets said she was a great rat.
(pride).  While she was under anesthetic the vet also took a small biopsy of
the growth under her right arm, which turned out to have a milky ...
Ummm Just two more ....26 Oct 2004 17:37 GMT4
I wonder if there is a serenity prayer out there for Rat Addicts?..:)   I
think Rat Food should also be sold in shops where there are no Rats.  Yep,
you all get the picture already.  The last time I was in getting their food
there was this gorgeous hoodie a real mushroom colour, not ...
Need Fast Advice on Foot Problem26 Oct 2004 14:08 GMT4
Maggie is going to have her spay surgery tomorrow morning.  I am leaving
here at 5:30am to get her down to the vet for 9:00am. She will have the
operation and be released at 5pm, then we will come home.
Tonight I looked in on Jacques (who is only 11 weeks old) and his right hind

You are in your bed, alone, nude.
Suddenly and without warning, a huge rat comes in your bed!
What do you do?
Rat Loosing weight.25 Oct 2004 21:18 GMT4
I have a 10 month old rat that is loosing weight and I have no idea why. He
has no breathing difficulties, he's eating like a horse, he flies around his
cage like a youngster, and I don't see any mites. He has three other cage
mates with him, that all seem to be doing ok. I just ...
Thank you ...25 Oct 2004 16:03 GMT3
Thanks Guys for all your kind words with Chandlers passing.  Does anyone
have any idea how long a Rat would have Liver Disease before definite
symptoms like yellowing would show up?  Thankfully he wasn't in any pain
just very tired.  After the Vet had checked him over he waddled ...
Rat Bath  >>Joanne<<25 Oct 2004 05:12 GMT13
I was looking through your pics of rats in a bath.  A bath for rats?
Can you tell me how I can give them a bath.  Do I shampooing them and
how do I dry them?
I'm from Michigan and it is a colder climate up here now.
Teeth trimed too short?25 Oct 2004 05:05 GMT11
Token had her teeth trimed yesterday and not she isn't eating.
She has trouble even eating cooked pasta (needs to be cut in small pieces).
We have been grinding her lab blocks up and mixing then with water.
Will this pass?
Feeding Rats25 Oct 2004 05:04 GMT4
How much and how many times a day do I feed the 3 rats?  They seem to be
wanting more to eat.  I know they have little tummies.  I recently gave
them 3 blueberry yogurt drops and some popcorns.  In the afternoon  I
give them about 1/4 cup each of their food.  The food last until
Rat smells; rat squeaks25 Oct 2004 01:15 GMT4
My son has two young females in a wire cage. The females have been
living together for about a month. I have questions about two issues:
1. The cage stinks. My son changes the bedding (aspen) once a week,
and he scoops poo out every few days, but the cage really smells. What
