Is it time for Jerry?30 Sep 2005 22:15 GMT8
I find myself at another crossroads in my little ratties lives ..........
I posted recently about Jerry and his slow decline from a pituitary tumour,
which I now think is probably reaching it's peak.
I've lost previous rats to this, but they literally did not move and were

Domesticating young rats30 Sep 2005 12:52 GMT10
Hi! I'm Luka, 22, from Slovenia, Europe. Very new to this group so a
big hallo to everybody. I'm new to rats, too. I got my first rat 4 days
ago. It's about 5 weeks old. I'm really enthusiastic about it cos I've
heard all those nice stories about keeping them and how they attach to
Rat documentary is out and doing well!29 Sep 2005 22:58 GMT11
For those of you who haven't heard, "Rats: The Great Underrated Pet," a
humourous and informative 70 minute documentary narrated by Emmy winner
Scott Herriott is selling well and getting great reviews. With almost 2
hours of bonus materials, the DVD has been approved by the Rat and
Good News29 Sep 2005 21:07 GMT3
Hi all.  Just thought I'd let you know how Fudge is doing after his
respiratory problems and nasty abscess.  After being on anti-biotics for
over two week now, his breathing is so much better - I can't hear any
wheeziness at all, there's no sneezing and no porphyrin.  The massive ...
Fatal Haemorrhage - and some new additions29 Sep 2005 21:05 GMT7
Not been on line much lately - too much work, an allotment and a bout of RSI
conspire to keep me a brief spectator!
Anyway - five days ago I came home from work and found Saffron (one of my
seven girls) looking very poorly with half-closed eyes and what looked like
Toddlers and Freddy 2's!28 Sep 2005 01:12 GMT4
I used to post here a few years ago while I was breeding rats. Due to health
reasons, moving house and having my own litter ;) I had to give it all up.
I've been ratless for the past 3 years, but yesterday I went to the petshop
for dog food and couldn't resist two little 5w.o. ...
Use of natural branches28 Sep 2005 00:57 GMT4
I noticed that many of you use those synthetic branches in your rat cages
for climbing.  I've looked all around in the limited pet supply places here
and can find nothing bigger than tiny fish tank decorations.  The woman at
the feed store recommended just going out and getting ...
Gerbil with a head tilt26 Sep 2005 20:12 GMT6
I have two gerbils, who are about 2 years old, was feeding them today, when
I noticed one of them has his head permanently tilted to one side, not at
a large angle, but enough to know its not how he usually is.
Does anyone know what it might be?
that sticky feeling around the rat cage26 Sep 2005 08:26 GMT13
just wondering what that sticky feeling is that seems to be on everything
near my wire type rat cage?
is it splashed water or...
to those who have lost loves...25 Sep 2005 16:24 GMT2
I was looking around for a poem to post for all of you who have recently
lost babies, but I couldn't find anything. I came to this website and
began reading this post. I think you will all understand why I had to
share it. Hugs and love to all who have lost darlings lately. I am ...
ugh...25 Sep 2005 00:46 GMT9
It's been a rough week.  First my persian, Puddy, has been ill.  He was
diagnosed with kidney failure on Tuesday.  It's rough because he's a rescue
cat and he's been with me for a year and half, but he's an old man at 14
y/o.  He's at the vet's and has been on IV fluids since ...

After losing two of my fuzzy butts in one day we now have had to deal
with one of our cats dying... He came inside dragging his back legs. The
Kids rang me at work and told me so I told Hubby to get him to the Vets
immediately.  The Vet diagnosed Anti- Freeze poisoning.  Michael ...
Charlie's Gone To the Bridge24 Sep 2005 02:56 GMT4
My sweet little bear went to the bridge and joined his brothers on Monday
the 19th.  He took a turn for the worse last Friday when he barely would
take food at all.   All I could get him to eat was his favorite cooked sweet
corn and some baby food.  He had just the weekend before ...
