My Ratty has a Lump ;_;30 Aug 2006 23:20 GMT7
I'm very worried about my 1 and a half year old male, Rex. A couple of
days ago, overnight a large lump appeared on the underside of his neck.
from what I've been able to see, it's in between the size of a small
grape and the size of a large pea and is somewhat soft. I'd like tog
Pippin not feeling too well...30 Aug 2006 07:03 GMT3
I noticed today that he seems to be sneezing a bit and is a tad
lethargic.  He also seems to be staying to one corner of his cage.
When I pet him, he lets out this pathetic squeek.
He seems to be moving around ok, when he decides to move, and his

I've de-lurked again to ask for advice.
I decided it was about time I had some more young ladies as I am now down to
only two.  My old granny dumbo Emily, is very old indeed and her only
cage-mate is 'Her' (Kate) who is only a teen.  Her will be needing new
Hi!28 Aug 2006 01:25 GMT5
Hi all!  I've not visited the group for quite a few weeks as we've had my
fiance's daughter staying with us (she's over from Ontario, Canada, where
she emigrated to a couple of years ago with her mum and step-family) for the
last month so life has been all go!  I'd just like to ...
Help!  I Now Wonder About My Rat's Gender!27 Aug 2006 00:39 GMT9
I have a concern... I posted a while back about my rats, Kuzia (now
about 5 months old) and Chammie (now about 3 months old).   I'm now
concerned about the gender of Chammie.  When I have my play time with
them, Chammie is always chasing Kuzia, grabbing her back, mounting her
Cage cleaning idea26 Aug 2006 16:18 GMT1
I've been using a diluted vinegar solution and paper towels to spot
clean my cage between the weekly scrubbing and I just had an idea to
make it easier. When my son used cloth diapers I read about a way to
make your own baby wipes. I've adjusted the recipe for cage cleaning
Rat Toys26 Aug 2006 01:54 GMT9

You wouldn't believe it.25 Aug 2006 07:55 GMT4
Hiya one and all,
Not much news in Rattie land at the moment so I guess that is a good
thing for now.  We took some amazing photos of the ratties in the bath
the other night.  Sadly when I was renaming them I deleted the whole lot

Scabs on tail: Symptom of mites?23 Aug 2006 14:35 GMT2
When we first got our current rats, they developed a bad case of mites
whose symptoms were small pinpoint scabs on their bodies and
scratching. Our vet successfully treated them with a series of
injections.
Photos of ratties23 Aug 2006 14:33 GMT3
Just put some old photos of some of our rats on my homepage (link below).
Nothing special or unusual in the photos themselves, but I know some people
like a good excuse to go "ahhhh... cutie pie!"

biting new male - kind of long - need help23 Aug 2006 02:56 GMT1
I have not been to this list in a few years. As a matter of fact, we thought
we were winding down on having ratties since our max count was 13 wonderful
furballs. But now I have two that are not socialized very well.
One is a female that we rescued from a friend of my daughter ...
Surgery for Chewey today - 2 questions20 Aug 2006 19:18 GMT10
Hello. My Chewey just finished her surgery to remove a mammary tumor.
She's getting fixed at the same time.  So far so good.  I have concerns
because she's older.  I actually don't know how old she really is, I
think 15-16 months.
Weird story.20 Aug 2006 18:40 GMT21
So I'm calling pet stores yesterday trying to find one that is closer
to me than the one I used last time so I can find a new friend or two
for Agatha Scrat. I call one store where I don't get an answer so I
hang up and call other stores. An hour later, someone from that store
