Ruby and Savvy28 Nov 2006 19:23 GMT2
Well I figured I should introduce the Ruby to Savvy sooner rather than
later!   There was a bit of tussling at first, nothing too serious, and
now the two spend their time sleeping in their blanket together. It's
actually really adorable cause they do the rat-pile and sleep on

Is Rosemary bad for rats?28 Nov 2006 09:48 GMT4
Okay, after years of having no holiday tree... I'm getting a small (18"
or so) Rosemary tree.. for inside.  I've got 4 rats... they get out
time, but I watch them... but sometimes... well ..... they do slip out
of sight.  (Kant, Rousseau and the babies... Kierkegaard and Nietsche

Introducing: Ruby27 Nov 2006 10:02 GMT6
About a month after Riley died, I was browsing a pet store, looking to
purchase some treats for my other rats when I spotted a little white
rat sleeping in a cage.  I know most people have reservations about
getting rats from pet stores but seeing as how a) my boyfriend and I
Heartbreaking27 Nov 2006 09:58 GMT9
Often I say to myself that I have to take a break from having rats,
that their short lifespans are heart wrenching, and too many of them
spend their entire lives battling health concerns.
I adopted Horus (then Puddles) and Phoenix from a shelter in Toronto in
Introducing Rats - Advice Needed24 Nov 2006 07:56 GMT8
I have a new question...
One of our rats, Bella, is nearing the end of her life.  She is quite
old and we sense it coming. When she passes on, I want to know what to
do about her current companion, Foebe.  Foebe has only ever lived with
goodby fair pair21 Nov 2006 18:38 GMT9
In the last two weeks I've lost Ellie and Astro.
It was not a surprise as both had started to show
classic aging signs this summer. Weight loss,
sleeping in an inordinate amount (for them) etc.

Thinking of getting a 3d boy...21 Nov 2006 13:40 GMT2
I have two boys right now some of you may remember, Pepper and Pippin.
I've gotten that new rattie feeling and was wondering if it would be a
bad idea to go out and get them a 3d cagemate.
If it's not a bad idea, can anyone recommend a rattery in the SF Bay Area?

Crazy has crossed the bridge and other stuff19 Nov 2006 17:23 GMT7
Our little adopted daughter, Crazy, has crossed the bridge. She had suffered
with abscesses for most of her life with us. Finally, tumors took over and
we sent her home. She had stayed as long as it was comfortable. But once we
saw that  the tumors were ruining he quality of life it ...
I've adopted a rat12 Nov 2006 15:58 GMT9
Last week I've adopted a rat that lives at a shelter. His name is Vito, and
he can't be rehomed because of his bad health. But thanks to the support of
me and others, he can hopefully end his days happily at the shelter. I think
this is a really great way to (financially) support ...
