Fighting females29 Mar 2007 17:06 GMT4
My pair of rescue-rats have started squabbling quite seriously over the
past week; I had to take one of them to the vet because of an open wound
in her abdomen, in addition to a superficial bite on her shoulder.
Tonight she had fresh blood on her cheek from another bite, and there
Bad peanut butter in pet snacks!29 Mar 2007 15:31 GMT6
Seems that the same tainted peanut butter that is effecting humans is now
killing some pets.
A health aid worker in NH lost her "robo" hamster to a recently purchased
snack treat. She called the company only to find out they bought Peter Pan
Joanne's Mister27 Mar 2007 12:02 GMT2
Hi Joanne
I had a look at Bijou's birthday pics, she is beautiful.  Gentle
scritches to the birthday girl.
I was wondering what colour Mister was.  He looks like the spitting
Bijou 36 months old!!!27 Mar 2007 10:59 GMT7
My beautiful girl Bijou is 36 months old today. She was born at Zen
rattery in Toronto. I adopted her when she was 3 months old. Both her
parents lived a good old age as well. She has been such a happy go lucky
girl. Never was bothered by change or by new cage mates. She just ...

I've taken a couple of pictures this afternoon of my rats in an Easter
setting, and this is one of them:

I didn't know that rats brood eggs! *LOL*
Baby!27 Mar 2007 10:44 GMT4
For my birthday I got a larger cage for Bella, and a week later a baby
rat to keep her company (I won't be able to spend nearly as much time
with her when my baby comes). I have to grow the baby rat a little
before I let them stay in the same cage all the time... she's SO tiny!
Intelligence27 Mar 2007 02:02 GMT7
We're always talking about what intelligent animals rats are, and of course
that's plainly evident to anyone who's ever owned them.  I'm looking
stories, examples, anecdotes, etc. about particular displays of intelligence
from your rats, things that made you truly realize what ...
Stewart26 Mar 2007 20:41 GMT7
I have a male rat that is about 2 years old and he has developed a few
bumps on his tail.  One is rather large and seems to have scabbed over lately.
I have read a few things here on Ivermectin as a use to try and cure this but
I have been looking for it online and it seems to be ...
hello ... new here...26 Mar 2007 14:53 GMT13
Hi, I have two ratties, peanut butter and jelly... both hooded, one black
hooded, the other brown... jelly is the black one...
anyways, I've only had them for a few weeks, they were about the size of
small mice when I got them, now they are doubled that size and I've recently
Help! Anesthetic recovery?26 Mar 2007 04:21 GMT10
Hi. Buster just had surgery today to remove a cyst.  He went under at
about 11:30. Now, 5.5 hours later, he's still totally sedated. He is
breathing but not responding in any other way.  My vet is 50 miles away.
She said I could bring him in to inject fluids to help him ...
My little friend, Bo, passed on today25 Mar 2007 23:04 GMT3
Today Bo lost her battle against recurring abscesses. It just became too
much for her little body to handle. She had been healing nicely, but I do
believe being a hairless made it harder for her. She was the cutest little
dumbo you would have had the pleasure of knowing. I have ...
How did you get started with rats?25 Mar 2007 19:39 GMT33
Hi. I'm curious about how everyone got into rats as pets?  For us, we
ended up babysitting my nephew's rat.  At first, we were horrified and
wanted him to come get it ASAP. But I went online and read about what
great pets they make, so I took her out of the cage and visited with ...
Is My GrandRat In Heat Or Just Bored?22 Mar 2007 12:22 GMT1
My grandrat is single, and been with us since she was about three months, so
she's about 2 now. For all the time we've had her, she's been non-verbal.
Hardly a squeak out of her. But then yesterday, as I was walking by my
daughter's room, I heard an insistent squeaking. I checked on ...

Hey everyone thought I would drop a note to let you all know I found a
home for my oox's (rats). Jazz went to a home with a nice lady from
the Humane Society, she fosters rats. But Jazz will be hers to own.

Pictures of the Furry Ones.22 Mar 2007 06:44 GMT7
Well I have been lurking around here and finally decided to place some pictures
for everyone to see of my current and past Furred Friends.

I even placed a few of myself while "working" at a Renaissance Faire as a candle
