Question Time30 Jun 2007 16:10 GMT5
My hands shake as a result of a childhood illness.  When I'm tired or
agitated, it gets a little worse.  I'm finding it very difficult to pick
Jenny up and hold her safely due to the constant twisting she does.
None of this "Lure me with a treat, then I'll let you pick me up the way
new baby boys30 Jun 2007 06:15 GMT21
This is my first time posting here, but I don't know where else to get
*positive* advice about our two new boys. We got two male 5 wk. old
ratlets almost 2 wks. ago- Rocky and Jack. I have had many rats since
my teen years, but they have all been female! (simply by fate.)
Jenny's Blog: Rat-A-Tat-Tat!29 Jun 2007 02:54 GMT14
Jenny decided she wanted to start her "day" between 9:30 p.m. and 10
p.m. last night.  I go to bed in that time period (or earlier) because I
have to get up at 5:15 a.m.   Every time I woke, it seemed that Jenny
was trying out her new Oasis water bottle, which I discovered shortly
Sneezing Rat27 Jun 2007 02:38 GMT3
Has anyone else had a problem with their rat sneezing.  I dont see any red
stuff coming out of his nose, but I am worried considering how fast the other
one went.  I read somewhere that they usually sneeze for the first few days
when they come to a new home, and its only been 24 ...
Question on introducing rats.26 Jun 2007 13:41 GMT7
I'd like to introduce my rat babies to their uncle Ren. I've place
they're cages together so Ren and the babies are familiar with each
other. However, as the babies are half the size of Ren, is it too
early to make an introduction? The babes will be 6 weeks on Saturday
*all* rats seen as vermin26 Jun 2007 08:50 GMT18
Hi folks, I have a bit of a pet peeve - no pun intended. Today I was
out buying samples of various things my rat might like from the health
food shop. I mentioned to the lady at the counter that I was buying
these small amounts of things to 'see what rats like.' She was full of
Welcome, Jenny! Oops!25 Jun 2007 20:04 GMT4
I won a fully assembled Coast cage on eBay.  The seller's feedback
contained numerous comments about how much the winner's rat(s) liked the
cage in addition to the usual "fast shipper, great cage" ones.
I purchased the necessities for the cage, including a wonderful wooden

New Rats25 Jun 2007 01:55 GMT14
So after a week of being without a pet I have decided that I need someone
here to come home to.  So now I am off looking for a new rat.  A friend is
coming with me tomorrow to check out one that I really like.  Its a boy this
time (as they are more okay being alone, and they tend to ...

Once again, the message I posted last night did not show up, so if you
somehow received a similar post already- forgive me.
I was reading your past post about introducing new boys to your spayed
girls and it made me curious. How did it work out? Are the boys
Update on Java24 Jun 2007 13:17 GMT3
I had posted a couple of weeks ago about Java having an ear infection
and ab abcess on her side.
After a visit to the vet and some antibiotics, she was looking great.
For about two days. Then she came down with a nasty respiratory
baby rat rescue!24 Jun 2007 09:42 GMT5
Man....I tell you, I have never been so relieved in all my life!
Last night during out time one of the baby rats got startled by a
noise and scarpered. I couldn't find him before I went to bed, and
with 8 cats in the house I was expecting to wake up to...leftovers.
Carbaryl Powder23 Jun 2007 16:49 GMT13
Does anyone know where I can get Carbaryl powder? It's also listed as
Ortho Sevin Carbaryl powder. It's what the vet told me to use for the
lice, but I can't find it anywhere near me.

A Sick Rattie22 Jun 2007 19:43 GMT21
About a week ago I bought a rat (Oreo) from a petstore.  They told me that
she was pregnant and would be having babies any day.  She has always been
pretty slow moving and calm.  Over the past week she has become slower, and
almost depressed looking.  She doesnt move around as much, ...
It's Lice!22 Jun 2007 16:03 GMT6
Our baby boys have lice. Unfortunately, they had no buggies on them,
only nits- so the vet couldn't tell if they are biting or sucking,
which require different treatments.
Jack doesn't have a cold!! thank the heavens.
