ratty books/movies31 Aug 2007 12:45 GMT9
So I started reading um...Lair by James Herbert last night. Its about
rats (probably mad psycho killer ones), and is part of a trilogy from
what I can work out.
movies I know of..um..Mrs Frisby and the Rats of Nimh (book too?), and
Now Evy too...30 Aug 2007 23:42 GMT5
Cheryl went to get all our lot out this evening & found that Evy, who'd
had her second birthday a couple of weeks ago, was dead. It looks like
she died in her sleep, maybe a stroke.
At least she was with her friends. I saw her this morning & she was

Oops, Christmas [on my shoulder] just bit Smokeys [in my lap] ear.
Cheeky rat. Should have seen the look Smokey gave Chrissy.

Is it bad that I like my rats better than my dog?30 Aug 2007 10:52 GMT4
Daisy the Basset hound annoys the crap out of me and I just don't like
her very much. I feel terrible about it but she's hard to love. I love
my rats so much more than her! I feel like I need therapy or something.
Daisy is just so needy and bossy. I've tried dog-whispering ...

The boys favorite thing is a toy boat that I picked up from the op

Travels of a rat in heat29 Aug 2007 00:35 GMT8
How do?
I just went to give the boys out time playing on top of thier house,
and to see if they like Nutri Grains. Being the nice considerate
person I am I gave Chrissy one too, only this time she didn't come out
Munch Died28 Aug 2007 22:53 GMT10
---last night.
My mom woke me up a little after seven, by knocking on me door. She
told me that she went down to the basement to check on some things,
and noticed that Munch was not moving no matter what she did. It was
Cage recomendation28 Aug 2007 04:34 GMT20
Any recomendations on a cage for 3 young boys. I eventually plan to have
them live in the superpet deluxe ferret home with Art and Tar. Right now
they are in a Ferplast Mary cage, but it is too small as there is only the
one level. I love the look of the Ferplast furet tower, but ...
another question..or two27 Aug 2007 01:22 GMT2
Q1) I know how much food a rat is 'supposed' to eat a day, that being
about 10% of thier body weight.
I am stuck on how much fresh food to give Christmas, so that she
doesn't 'go hungry' and doesn't stash it all. The last two housework
itchy and scratchy26 Aug 2007 15:07 GMT3
Hiya,
I was just reading about itchy rats, and after reading numerous pages,
was wondering what amount of scratching is 'normal' - and what is
termed 'excessive.'
boys weights26 Aug 2007 02:55 GMT5
Wow, I just weighed the boys...and Barkley. Their weights are:-
Barkley - 550gms (up 100gms/3oz since the vet visit) 19.6 oz
Apollo - 325gms, 11.5 oz
Samson - 325gms, 11.5oz
Do your rats...?26 Aug 2007 02:04 GMT6
Do your rats re-arrange their cage on a daily basis?  I notice every time i
wake up they have moved things around, turned their huts upside down.  It's
like they are experts of Feng Shui.
Also, do any of your rats insist on going into your shirt?  Whenever i get
stupid question, maybe?24 Aug 2007 10:24 GMT4
Um, I have Christmas on my shoulder, and as is my habit I was playing
with her tail. I found that the last two inches (the tip) feels sorta
squishy, not like I [seem to] recall it usually is, and the skin seems
to er..slip a lot more than usual.
To go or not to go... 22 Aug 2007 23:31 GMT11
I was wondering your guys' opinion on this whole vet thing.  I currently have
three other friends (who live near me) that have rats, and they all take care
of their pets differently, which is causing me some greif/concern.  Here are
the current points of view that my friends have.
