Alternative to Eukenuba Low-residue?31 Jan 2004 14:09 GMT4
Our shelter, on veterinary advice, has been feeding Eukenuba
Low-residue to decrease stress diarrhea.  It seems to help, but I
dislike giving them these lousy ingredients:

Advice on husky with blown knees30 Jan 2004 14:54 GMT15
Just before Christmas I was running on the beach with my two male
sibes, Toklat and Vader. Toklat has this crazy habit of suddenly
changing direction and charging up or down slope until he is brought up
short by the lead. I think that's what he tried this time, but before
Update on injured young cat30 Jan 2004 01:01 GMT6
Hi everyone --
Just thought you would like to know that the kitty I found with the tail injury
may be recovering from his incontinence.  I took him in for a consult with a
surgeon, about getting his tail removed, and the tech that did his exam said

Dog having seizures - what to do?28 Jan 2004 19:02 GMT28
Our 10 year old GSD, Dylan, began having seizures last week - at least
that's the first we'd seen one.  They are very brief, lasting just a few
seconds, with no warning that we noticed.  She stiffens and falls on her
side, arches her back, and then "paddles" a bit.  Right ...
opinions on spinal injury in young cat28 Jan 2004 08:05 GMT5
Greetings --
I've been caring for a young cat that I found injured a few nights ago.  I took
him to the animal E.R. directly after I found him, as he was walking funny and
had some blood around his back end.  He wasn't in pain, and was alert and
What is this skin disorder?28 Jan 2004 01:24 GMT7
My 8 y/o Black Lab has been chewing  his left hind leg and back. When I
looked closer he's try to get an area about one inch from his anus, but it
is on the skin.  The area is raised white dried clusters about an inch
diameter with some flaking.  The dead skin (flaking) is rust in ...
Mast Cell Tumor27 Jan 2004 20:38 GMT10
Yesterday we had a mast cell tumor removed from the rear ham of our 9 year
old German Shorthair. It was subcu, attached to the skin and sitting on but
not invading the muscle below it. There are so many different opinions on
the internet about this type of tumor, I'm not sure who to ...

discoid lupus26 Jan 2004 18:05 GMT2
a few months ago my 8 year old sheltie/whippet female was diagnosed with
discoid  lupus.  I think she had signs of it years ago, but we thought it
was staff infection caused by fleas and did eventually clear up with
antibiotics (probably would have cleared on it's own.)  During the ...
Bad vet?26 Jan 2004 00:43 GMT4
I have a question, I had a 6 month old kitten spayed on Monday, the vet
said he would glue her, which was fine with me, but the day after she
got home, it looked like the insision was opening up. I took her to
another vet and she said there was WAY to much glue on her and it was
Post teeth extraction question25 Jan 2004 20:57 GMT3
My dog had 5 teeth pulled this past Tuesday. I would like to know when will
it be safe (so not to cause pain) to start his brushing routine again. Also
I have him on a soft diet....when will I know to switch him back to a dry
diet? The sheet they gave me says a few days. I'm scared ...
Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy in Pet Owners.24 Jan 2004 13:18 GMT8
I`m putting together an article for a magazine on the Munchausen Syndrome By
Proxy and am looking for anecdotes from vets.  Has anyone here encountered
this syndrome in a pet owner, as i`m sure this must be as common with pets
as it is with children - maybe more so?  Although, i ...
Divorce - Wife Abandoned Cats23 Jan 2004 02:51 GMT3
My wife is filing for divorce and has filed a fictitious police report to
get a restraining order to remove me from the home. We have 2 cats that I
could not take from the house and one needs special care.
I'm told by in-laws that I still have contact with that my wife has not been
Emergency - Cat w/ Broken Leg?22 Jan 2004 18:47 GMT2
I don't know how to determine if his paw or leg is broken......
I tried to get our cat into the carrier tonight to transport him but he is
very skittish. He ran and finally I cornered him in a closet, scruffed him
hard and pushed him into the carrier forcefully as we've had to do in ...
