Urgent! Petition To Save 53-Year-Old Elephant30 Aug 2004 16:06 GMT1
Help save Lota, a 53-year-old elephant in emergency condition!
This petition demands the immediate retirement of a 53-year-old elephant to a sanctuary. She was donated to the Hawthorn Corporation--actually sold to them for a dollar--despite a public outcry. Despite her advanced ...
a cold?30 Aug 2004 08:37 GMT1
I can't recall that I've ever had a dog with a cold, but cats get them, or
something like them. So first off, do dogs? They must, right? Horses, pigs,
cows, and rats do.... There's a cold-type virus variant out there for every
mammal, right?

I am hoping someone can direct me to a source of current information on
the treatment, and search for a cure, of FLV.  I've found many sources
of information describing symptoms, and prevention, but very little on
the treatment to maintain good quality of life.  Many sites are

I got 2 kittens ( Toby and Louie ) from a shelter a couple of months ago.
Two weeks ago, I took Toby to the vet because his stomach quite suddenly bulged

I read an article in Cat Fancy magazine that the hairball treatment
stuff that you can buy blocks some vitamins from being asorbed (SP?)
by a cats system.
Was just wondering if anyone knew if this was true or not.
Chylothorax research - where is it?29 Aug 2004 10:53 GMT1
Is there an organization or something that researches chylothorax in
cats, that I could make a donation to? I realize that there are many
veterinary colleges and such things that research illnesses/diseases
that accept donations but I want the money I donate to be used to

Working on a consumer product27 Aug 2004 17:09 GMT3
I'm currently working on a consumer product and was wondering if there is
somewhere that I can get a hold of a soft-copy (hard if absolutely
necessary) of a Veterinary Patient Chart.  What I mean is the form that a
Vet fills out when you take your pet in for a visit.
