Dog and Pepper Spray31 Aug 2005 22:14 GMT1
I'm thoroughly convinced that the electric meter reader sprayed
one of my dogs with pepper spray. The dog is okay, but when I
pet him or hug him I feel the burning from the pepper spray.
I don't know if anyone here can help, but please respond if you
Enteridis? 29 Aug 2005 20:36 GMT1
I came home Monday and my 12yr old Bassett was laying around and wouldn't
move. Took him to the vet  he has gone to for 12 yrs after begging for an
emergency appointment (which I was assured was $100 up front) during regular
hours no less, and had him assessed. I was told he had a ...
Nails weirdness24 Aug 2005 07:24 GMT2
I have noticed something going on with Saskia's nails (Great Dane, 1 1/2
years old, spayed). I have worked with dogs and trimmed their nails for
groomers and rescues and vets all my life and have never seen anything quite
like it. Yes, we are going to the vet later in the week. ...
Two Labs with bad odor23 Aug 2005 11:01 GMT1
I have two black labs with terrible odor.  I have bathed them, changed
their diets, several times.  There are no other symptoms.  They like to
swim in the pool; thought maybe it could be a reaction to the chlorine.
Any suggestions would really be appreciated!
Vomiting and lethargy in my cat21 Aug 2005 23:44 GMT4
My 7 year old cat has been off color for the last few days - generally
a bit lethargic, quiet, and vomiting. Last night he ended up at the ER
vet because he vomited 5 times during the afternoon.
He was checked over, found to have a temperature of 104*F and given a
Dog Can't Stand Up in Morning21 Aug 2005 00:59 GMT8
Zasha is an 11 Y/O German Shepherd. Two weeks ago, she ate an ENTIRE
CHICKEN CARCASS out of the garbage on a Thursday. Being temporarily
very financially challenged, I couldn't take her to the vet, but fed
her full of oatmeal, bread, metamucil and olive oil (and beef broth).
Metacam worries.19 Aug 2005 04:16 GMT4
We have a seven year old Mini Schnauzer who has ruptured her cruciant
ligament. Whilst waiting for surgery she was initially prescribed
Rimadyl which, after four days sent her liver enzymes ten times higher
than they should be. ( ALT over 1000!)
Bloat with no eating or drinking?18 Aug 2005 04:40 GMT3
Can a dog get bloat if they haven't eaten a meal for 8 hours and had
very little water?
Cat Eats String17 Aug 2005 01:24 GMT1
Our 10 year old Siamese mix eats string, plastic, thread, fringe, rubber
bands, paper, ribbon, anything she can find. She has done this for years.
We try to hide or put away anything we see that we think she might eat, but
she always comes up with something, even if it's a little ...
Drug to Mark Blood in Urine14 Aug 2005 02:13 GMT3
I remember reading somewhere that there was a drug one could give an
animal to make their urine fluoresce or change color if it contained
blood. I have a multiple-cat household with a number of
semi-permanent rescues and I hate to start caging to find which one
Cats eating flies12 Aug 2005 16:17 GMT3
I have one furbaby that loves to catch flies and eat them when she is done toying with
them.  I try to stop her when I see her but do not always make it.
My ex said that eating flies causes worms.  True or false please ??

Dogs left in Cars11 Aug 2005 14:35 GMT12
what do you recommend as the safest way to leave a dog in a car, is it
even right?.. I don't believe that any pet should be left alone in a
car no matter what especially in the summer.  What do you think its
like for a dog to sit in a car with just a few windows cracked if at
Cat's nose in trouble11 Aug 2005 08:50 GMT8
I have a 15 year old male domestic shorthair whose nose has been
partially clogged for about a year. My vet says that it must be an
allergy, perhaps dust mites, perhaps pollen, we just don't know. While
I'm trying to eliminate as many allergens as I can, SweetBoy (my cat)
If it's not "maiotic" then what is it?11 Aug 2005 02:28 GMT2
My adult mix breed (maybe Spaniel/Basset or Corgi) has longish ears
with heavy long fur. In the summer we have to watch his ears carefully;
at the first sign of darker pink I'll use an ear wash that stops any
problems but once a year or so it escellates into a raging red ear
Medicine to Weight Conversion Chart10 Aug 2005 19:05 GMT10
I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of an Online
Medicine to Weight Conversion chart. I have seen plenty of books and
posters but I need something that I can access on the fly. Thank you
