My dog's chin "chatters"27 Feb 2007 06:35 GMT1
My 6-year old Australian Cattle Dog experiences episodes of what I can
only describe as "chattering chin" or lower jaw. Her chin/jaw will
sort of "vibrate" for anywhere from 10-30 seconds. During these
episodes she seems perfectly normal otherwise. We've started watching
Dog ate gum, now what?24 Feb 2007 05:14 GMT8
Maui possibly got into some of my mom's gum that has Xylitol in it.  I am
not sure how much he got if any.  ER vet #1 says call animal poison number.
ER vet #2 says don't induce vomit cause he could choke on the gum.  The
internet says induce vomiting.  What should I do?  This ...
High ALT Level Mystery21 Feb 2007 18:34 GMT6
At the age of 7 months, we took our Boxer "Gracie" to the vet for
spading, and we discovered through their routine blood work that
Gracie's ALT levels were high.  They performed the spading anyway, and
during surgery, the took a liver biopsy, which proved negative.  They
Mode of action of Rimadyl?21 Feb 2007 18:00 GMT6
Anyone know the mode of action of Rimadyl?
Could something like diabetes  insipidus predispose a dog to an adverse
reaction to Rimadyl?
I know both are quite rare, and I also know that my dog's brother died
bald on the black spots?15 Feb 2007 12:16 GMT3
this guy is a 12 year old mixed breed neutered male at a local
shelter. he's listed as a boxer/dalmatian. i think he looks like a pit
mix, personally. anyway, i'm planning on adopting him (would have been
today if the weather weren't so bad).
Head trauma - how bad is this?15 Feb 2007 05:40 GMT8
My friend has a tea cup yorky and poodle mix.  It's only a few months
old.  She is extremely active and radical.  My friend was holding her
in the chair and the dog got wild and ending up falling out of the
chair and onto the right side of her head.  It was about a 2 foot
St. Bernard having seizures14 Feb 2007 03:28 GMT3
I have a six year old St. Bernard who had his first seizure two years
ago. Since that time, he has had a few off and on. Recently however,
his seizures have increased in frequency. A month ago he had two back
to back seizures and today he had four back to back seizures. I
Just age? Or something else?12 Feb 2007 02:16 GMT5
Dempsey, my 11 1/2 year old lab has started to show some unusual
behavior changes. I'm thinking its probably just a side effect of
getting old, but I thought I'd see what people think.
I first noticed about about a week ago. Normally he's very social, and
cat breaths too rapidly11 Feb 2007 17:47 GMT4
I have a calico who is 8 years old.  She has always breathed more rapidly
then other cats, and has always gotten more winded faster than my other
cats.  Now that she is getting older, I"m getting more concerned.  If
another cat chases her, or she runs around a bit playing, or ...

Can anyone provide me with some links on the net to help educate me with
this?  I've been searching Google and so far not really coming up with
anything useful.
I know I'm jumping the gun here as I will be making an appointment with the

Need Advice... Keko - 9yr old Alaskan Malmute very sick...07 Feb 2007 15:19 GMT5
I really need some advice here...  a little history...
Last Sunday (Jan 29th) late evening my buddy/son (Keko) began vomiting, I
wasn't too alarmed at first because he often licks his fur as most dogs do
which will on occasion make him hack-up.  Over the following few days I
Do cats blink their eyes?07 Feb 2007 12:42 GMT2
I've never seen my 7-year-old mackerel tabby blink her eyes, except very
slowly--which I understand means something like, "I like you". Is this lack
of rapid blinking the rule for cats? And if so, why?
Thanks,
hip xray question07 Feb 2007 01:05 GMT3
I have a bitch who is now 2 years old and I would like to have her hips
xrayed (OFA).  How long should I wait to have the xray done after she is in
heat?
I seem to recall people recommending a wait of several weeks.
Amputating adult Rotty tail06 Feb 2007 00:06 GMT5
Butch is an adult, male Rottweiller at the shelter. A man wanted to
adopt him today. When the man revealed that he wanted to have Butch's
tail amputated during his neuter, the shelter staff scrambled to
discourage the amputation and invoked a home check before finalizing the
