How critical is keeping a pup in 2 weeks after the last vaccination? My pup
had her last vaccination last week and now I've been offered the opportunity
to go to stay with a friend for the weekend (9 days after her vaccination)
and I'd have to take her with me. The vet said to ...

I have a female cat (unable to determine age, got her from a shelter,
estimate 6-8 or 10 years old) who has just spent a week in distress.  she's
a small cat to start with....but she used to weigh almost 8 lbs, when she
Florida Baby Raccoons and rabies27 Oct 2007 02:22 GMT4
Yesterday, two baby raccoons fell from the tree.  I had seen the
adults around from time to time, but this was the first for the
babies.  It seems that they fell from quite a hight.  They seem quite
young with eyes open, with a body size about the size of a large
broken dog nail27 Oct 2007 02:12 GMT3
My 2 yr. old beagle broke his nail on his hind leg.  I trimmed what I
could without clipping the quick but on the initial break there was
some bleeding (I only saw the blood on his paws between his claws).
The bleeding subsided quickly as there wasn't much blood.
kitty with kidney probs24 Oct 2007 23:14 GMT2
I have a cat I got from a no-kill shelter about 5 years ago.  when I got her
she had bad teeth.  one tooth (the front fang tooth) was dead and she had
tarter.  I don't know how old she is.  She is a small long hair cat with a
bit of a surly disposition. But I love her to pieces.
Skin blackened on dogs bottom24 Oct 2007 01:45 GMT2
I have a 10 year old Brittany girl in generally good health. For
some years she has had a black growth on her tummy in summer (when
her allergies are worst). My vet said it was yeast, if memory
serves, and recommended topical vinegar, which got rid of it.
Compounding pharmacies21 Oct 2007 18:15 GMT6
I had to get some melphalan compounded into 0.75 mg capsules, and the
local compounding pharmacy charged me $140 for 14 capsules.  That's
$10 each.  Yikes.  Online, I found some pharmacies that were less
expensive.  One in particular, Diamondback Drugs in Scottsdale, AZ,
HELP - Cat just home from dental procedure20 Oct 2007 04:45 GMT1
Just brought my cat home after dental cleaning and having an absessed tooth
pulled.  The vet said her breathing would sound congested from her having a
tube down her throat.  Indeed her breathing sounds like she has a very loud
congested purr (but there is no purr).  The doctor ...
N/F food and healthy cats19 Oct 2007 23:48 GMT1
I am considering adopting an 18 year old cat who's in renal failure and
is eating N/F food (as well as taking meds and getting subcutaneous
fluids).  I have some younger healthy cats (the oldest being 7 and the
youngest being around 4) and I'm writing to ask what will happen if the
Poodle with possible brain disorder?15 Oct 2007 02:55 GMT5
I had my Poodle's teeth cleaned and it seemed after that she has never
been the same. Her behavior changed and about 3 months after that she
started having ataxia and went blind. I had her eyes checked and her
eyes are fine, so he said it must be something in her brain. I took
red mange14 Oct 2007 02:14 GMT3
I would appreciate any discussion of the treatment of red mange in a 15 year
old dog.
My vet has proposed either a series of dips or daily medication for a period
of several weeks/months.  Apparently the oral meds don't taste very good and

Is the Natural Balance brand safe to purchase again?11 Oct 2007 20:47 GMT5
I know that the canned foods weren't part of the recall, but I just wanted
to check if anyone is feeding it to their cats again.
Based on a suggestion here, I'm thinking of giving my cat the venison or
duck formulas as it's easier to get to a Petco than one of the specialty
